A tonneau cover will remedy that. Roll mine down frequently and enjoy the breeze through.

Some people live very sad lives, and find the strangest ways of projecting it instead of just fixing their sad, pathetic lives. I'm not saying this is the case with anyone in particular, just in general.

I just think it's funny how defensive everyone is getting over a truck we nothing more than it comes in white or red, has red interior, a sun roof and an I- Force Max engine (whatever that means). It could be a complete pile o crap for all we know. Everyone is entitled to an opinion whether you like it or not. If you don't like the comments then don't read it or don't engage. I'm sure @TundraLaw is laughing it up reading these comments.

You're absolutely right that everyone is entitled to their opinions, but it gets a little old seeing the same people constantly shit on the vehicle that this forum is all about. These same people keep shitting on existing models, so it isn't just speculative shitting - it's trolling.

And I agree with that. Not saying it can't be annoying but if I've learned anything in life it is I can't control the people I work with or interact with on a daily basis. Hell 90% of the people I work with annoy this shit of me but such is life. LOL

That big sunroof might pay some dividends in how air flows over the cab and swirls in the bed though. The 2022 might have very clean air movement with the rear window down and the sun roof wide open.

I expect the 2022 Tundra will be competent, well made, and reliable. I don't expect it to be class leading in power, features, payload, towing, or tech gizmos. We already know the styling is polarizing at best. Until we see real specifications this is all just conjecture as you point out. I hope that I am surprised by Toyota on this truck and it is class leading, but judging by other Toyota product unveils so far this year I am not expecting to be proven wrong, and that is OK.

What I do find annoying is how Toyota has handled their marketing so far: lots and lots of hype. Invariably hyping up a product prior to release is almost always a bad idea because it never seems to live up to the expectations of the intended audience/customer. I am also annoyed by the fact that Toyota has taken so long to release a new Tundra, I have been waiting patiently for about 4 years now and that patience has worn thin.

Yes it's been very annoying how they have leaked only tiny tidbits of info at a time. I hope it's everything that everyone is building it up to be but until then I'll just be annoyed and continue reading everyone's banter of what they heard from their sisters friends uncle who once drove by a Toyota dealership.

Why is it "shitting on existing models" if a forum member who owns and existing model makes negative observations about their vehicle?

Sorry man, but the current Tundra is not all sunshine and lolly pops; it's far from perfect. Was it the best product at the time I bought it? Yep, without question it was head and shoulders above anything else on the market 14 years ago. Same can be said for many members on the forum: the Tundra was the best 1/2 ton truck you could buy for several years. If it bothers you that pointing out 14 years later the truck is not better than the competition outside of reliability and resale value then I don't know what to tell you. Reliability is important to a lot of people and it's a good reason to buy especially if you hold vehicles for a long time. Resale value can also be a strong argument, although it must be pointed out that in a normal market it's a question of how much money you lose if you want to trade in all the time. There are other priorities many of us have outside of reliability and resale value, not that I don't value those two metrics but there are others that are also important.

Honest question, would you guys rather not see all the details until it's basically released, or would you rather it got the Bronco treatment? You know, come build, specn and price, but you won't see it for years.

Personally I would rather see specs released and get a build and price feature.

That way I know what to expect, what to budget for, and hopefully could put in a reservation or pre-order.

Worked well for Ford with the Bronco, and Chevrolet with the C8 Corvette.

I'd rather them just give us all the info and a solid release date. I can wait if I know what I'm expecting. Right now we're getting teased with we might show you this year then who knows when it will be available

I think the huge schnoz may help create a dead-zone around the rear window!

(BTW I hate driving with a huge sunroof open around here. Seagulls.......)

I honestly don't know but maybe that's because I have no plans to buy a truck for a long time. I do like to build and price trucks I'll never buy so I guess I'll vote for the second option.

Lots of people get so sensitive over someone that bought something they like better than what we bought. If you are so sensitive about your purchase vs theirs do you think its because what they are saying is true? I am just trying to understand why people get so bothered when someone likes their truck over our Tundras? Who cares? I like hearing their opinion and a lot of it is factual but does not bother me.

Just like people have a right to be on here and share their opinions and experiences, the other people have a right to push back with their opinions and experiences.

As I said before, when I moved on from a certain vehicle, I also moved on from that vehicle's forum. Not because of any "rule" but because I don't see the point. I think that's what aggravates some people. Not that this place should become an echo chamber for Toyota or anything, but I do see why people get "sensitive" (I don't see it as sensitive, I see it as calling out a troll)

This forum has some of the most sensitive members I’ve ever observed on an automotive forum. Here I mistakenly thought owners of pickup trucks wouldn’t be easily offended snowflakes, and I was wrong.

I got the impression that it was this comment being called out:

That comment did seem like trolling.
Roof speakers? Huh, my 1994 Acura Vigor had roof speakers back in the mid 90's. Maybe Ford and RAM ripped off Acura?
HU (head unit)? What's the problem here? How many different ways could a HU be designed? Like a crystal ball instead?
Styling..well, that's his opinion. I don't think Toyota was being derivative of GMC. Why not go after the 3 box design of every truck?
Moonroof? So what? A VW Sportwagen had a Pano roof 6+ years ago...did Ford copy VW?
3.5TT Engine? Have you seen how many 2.0 4 bangers are out there? Does anyone accuse anyone of of stealing that idea? V6 TT was done by the Japanese (Z32 300ZX) long before the F-150....
Hybrid? Come on. Honda and Toyota mainstreamed that crap first.
Coil springs? There's basically 2 types of prevalent spring types in vehicles, coils and leafs. Leafs have been losing ground for decades. So what?

And when I am on my Titan forum bitching about the new 2016+ Titan having Ford F-series side window design everybody thinks I am nuts. They don't see the similarity, but to me that is an actual rip-off, not "speakers in the roof".

Of course, he could have just been joking with us to see some members become easily offended. I don't own a Tundra, so didn't offend me. But as an outsider it did seem trollish a little bit.

I understand that, I’ve only stuck around one other automotive forum after trading off the vehicle. Developed a lot of friends on that forum that I still keep in touch with today.

We troll each other mercilessly, harass each other, and act like dudes… not sensitive little grade schoolers.

My best troll yet was going into a new member questions topic sub-forum and directing all questions for classified adds to a buddy of mine. I told them he was the admin. Blew up his PM inbox. It was glorious.

To begin with the sensitivity of a lot of the members here doesn’t upset me. It takes a lot more than other people’s propensity to get butt hurt to upset me.

Furthermore; when something, or someone does upset me, I don’t habitually run away crying like a small child to go tell on the big meanie who hurt my feels. That never solves much of anything in the adult world, and just because I might not like something or someone doesn’t mean that I can’t communicate, work with, or learn from them or the situation. Strangely I seem to learn more when I’m outside my comfort zone than if I’m living my life in a box as it were. So dealing with situations and sometimes people I don’t see eye to eye with are growth opportunities. Often for both parties. Unless they’re trying to kill me, but even those were growth opportunities just not mutually beneficial ones.

This! Act like dudes and not a bunch of sensitive people. I have friends that can not take jokes about their vehicles and it cracks me up. If they love their vehicle so much and are truly confident about what they bought then my opinion or someone else's opinion should not hurt them so much.
