    Mine is CM.

If you can get a pair of pliers in there can you get a open end wrench in there?

Do you have any open ended ratcheting wrenches? That’s about all I can think of to get in there.

Damn you guys, yeah I used a pair of long nose needle pliers. Nothing else fits in there.

I’m guessing you can’t get to the nut side because of the gas tank… wonder if you need to drop that a few inches to get that bolt tightened.

Nut side is welded onto a plate, which blows, but the gas tank is definitely in the way. It’s a 26gal too, lol. Frustrating, but it’ll be all right.

The other 8 bolts and the bottom of the last one should be sufficient. Would be nice if I knew ALL the bolts were tightened.

All good bro! Use a jack to help you drill the holes; it’ll work wonders.

Ah, yeah I forgot about those back nuts being welded. Might not hurt to email or call WKOR in the morning and see what they suggest. Hopefully it doesn’t involve grinding out a pinch weld… :sawzall:

I’ll get you one tomorrow morning when I install the last bolt.

I have a feeling you’re going to need it too since you have a DC.

Here’s the item for your local HD - SKU is 581077. The 2” should fit, but I’ll confirm tomorrow for you.

photo 1: rear driver cab mount
photo 2: last G8 bolt on driver side

You can see from the 3rd photo why it is such a PITA to tighten that bolt…

@YotaBro You’re going to need a 2” G8 bolt if your driver side is identical as mine.

And ok, I’ll send some photos tomorrow when I work on the ole Tundie. That’s good to know. Is that 2” G8 bolt the one you sent earlier?

did you use regular spray paint to paint over the holes?

Yeah that’s the one and yes, I used rustoleum to spray the holes after.

That left rear bolt is a lot easier to get a wrench on if you remove the nut and washer from the cab mount and unbolt the e-brake cable bracket.

Unfortunately, I think the truss of the sliders would still be in the way. Correct me if I’m wrong though!

Yeah, should be these 3 bolts and it should drop down. I don’t know if you’d need to get to the top of it in the cab or not, but looks like you shouldn’t.

I haven't installed sliders on mine yet, but I did discover that while the frame holes may be the same between CM and DC, the body mounts aren't. When I tried to get fitted with CaliRaised CM sliders on my DC, we discovered the rear mount won't bolt up because of the rear cab body mount. By the way, those CaliRaised sliders were beefy and looked very well made.

Interesting. Good to know. Makes sense on the body mount, as the DC cab is shorter. Worst part on the CM was trying to get the bolt to thread on the welded plate/nut on the last bolt. Once it started to catch it was easy.

Any of y’all ever contact WKOR and ask about the torque setting for the bolts, or just tighten the shit out of ‘em? Worried about breaking the weld on the nut to the backing plate…

Looks like 1/2" grade 8 can go to about 120 ft-lbs. I basically just wrenched on it with my 1/2 inch drive until my body started moving and called it good...

Thanks so much Jake. Sounds like 120lbs it is. Probably just worrying too much, but I’m sure we’ve all had instances where we’ve stripped a thread or broke a weld over-torquing. Want to avoid that at all costs, because of you know, the cost!

I honestly tightened the sh*t out of it until I couldn’t anymore. Pretty much washer to frame. Didn’t leave any room for wiggle, lol!

Days are longer so I decided to split it up and get the passenger side done, will do driver side tomorrow morning. Took a little under three hours, longest part as mentioned was drilling out the frame holes. Probably would’ve went quicker if I had a hammer drill, but I’m cheap and just used the ol’ B&D Firestorm 24v cordless. I definitely started with the 1/8”, then 1/4”, then to 1/2” as per WKOR’s instructions. Painted the deck plate bolt heads black. Very impressed with the build quality and weld lines, and the shipping packaging really protected the powder coat. Only a couple small scratches which will be easy to touch up. Expensive, but worth it.

    Lots o’ mods
After nearly a month in transit (that’s not hyperbole, 25 days door-to-door) my WKOR sliders arrived Thursday afternoon. Spent the better part of seven hours bolting them up on Friday. It was a ton of work, but man these things are super stout. I’m extremely happy with the construction and overall look.

The installation would have been exponentially easier if I’d had better drill bits. I had a set of Milwaukee “hard metal” bits that feared neither man nor beast and chewed through that frame like grandma through a herd of cattle. Unfortunately, that set only went up to 3/8, a fact I didn’t catch until I was ready to start. I had a separate set of Irwin cobalt bits that went up to 1/2, so I grabbed that to finish up. Let me tell you, Irwin bits suck. I almost smoked a corded Dewalt 511 hammer drill trying to finish up with those Irwin bits. Irwin bits are responsible for the heartbreak of psoriasis. Don’t ever buy Irwin bits. Get those Milwaukees and don’t forget to dress up like a demented beekeeper, because the hot metal will fly.

Anyway, the sliders are awesome, and I at least got a good workout getting them installed.
