Radio updated now android auto is not working

WTH, I was driving and using my android auto to display navigation. A update notice came up on the radio asking of I wanted to download and update. I thought why not. After the update the android auto stop working. I plug the phone into the USB and it doesnt see the phone any longer. Truck is a 2020 and the phone is a Samsung S7. Anyone else have this happen

 

Have you try Forget Device and re-pair it? Starts fresh.

 

Yep.....another reason why the OEM radio is garbage.

 

I don't have android auto, but my navigation is not working correctly right now either.

 

Either call the dealer since it is under warranty and see if they can reboot it or update it manually again or call Toyota Corporate, tell them the problem and see if they can push the update to you again. I would probably start with the later first.

 

The problem is with the USB. When you plug it in the radio isnt seeing the phone connected.

 

Does your phone show that it’s charging when you plug it in? Do you have another phone you can try?

 

I figured it out. When Toyota downloaded and updated Android Auto I became incompatible with my S7. When I plugged it in tonight the phone asked me to download Samsung Smartswitch. Not sure why I needs that. Smartswitch is used to transfer info from an old phone to a new phone. I did the download and now the phone is working again. Android Auto has some new graphics and it does look better than the previous version.



What does pissed me off was that I was navigating to a destination and when the download happened it left me not able to see my nav displayed on my radio.
