What does everyone have on the table for spring projects around the house?

We are about to start work on closing in the breezeway between the house and garage. It will add about 150 sq ft to the house, move the laundry to the 1st floor and make it an attached garage. At the same time replacing the rest of the windows on the first floor that we didn't do in the fall.

as soon as we are done, we are having the house sided and the 2nd floor windows replaced.

and because I don't like having any free time I'm building a mini barn (12'x10') with a 8'x12' wood shed attached to it at the same time.....

Not much. Gotta plant some trees, remulch, install a drip line and redo the deck (sand/stain or trex). Not all am I doing myself.

Keep building up my presence in the gym.....keep up my potted plants.....keep saving up for wheels......keep looking for a nice used tonneau cover and step bars (maybe sliders)

A lot of "keep" me business! LOL

Living in the city in a quadplex doesn't afford me a lot of projects

that's my inspiration for the shed. my truck sat in the snow the whole winter because the mower was in my bay. it WILL be empty this winter.

Putting up an 8x10 shed. Mulching. Finish painting the exterior of the house. Building shutters, planters, and window planters. Build a cedar lattice. Build privacy screens for the garbage cans and utilities.

Hopefully build and sell 15-20 tables

Anyone know if you can just spread mulch over semi dead grass and weeds? Or will they start growing under the mulch and overpower it?

Year 1 it was grow through and year two the mulch will start winning.

If you are willing to do top off every so often it will work.

As you do oil changes, just throw the used oil on the semi-dead grass and it will take care of your problem. You're welcome.

I have way to much to do

    Outside:
    • Purchase and install shed.
    • Clean flower garden mulch area and plant new flowers.
    • Figure out where to plant sweet potatoes that my wife wants to grow and install garden area.
    • Remove two rose bushes.
    • Fix the retaining wall and level tiles for the playground area.
    • Figure out how to get the grass back to life in the backyard.
    • Add pea gravel fill to the dog run area.
    • Trim trees.
    • Fix sprinkler line leak at valves and leak from puncture in front yard.
    • Install short fence along back of dog run to keep them off the main fence.
    • Potentially purchase and install a Sunsetter retractable awning.

    Inside:
    • Finish master bathroom remodel.
    • Get carpet installed (Not doing this one myself).
    • Replace one or two laminate boards in kitchen from water damage.
    • Fix hole in wall in sons room.
    • Fix work bench top in garage.
    • Replace beer fridge that broke.
    • Make frames for some canvas paintings i got.
    • Touch-up paint on garage wall.
    • Paint and replace tool work bench top in garage.
    • Clean out basement
    • Fix the banister

Ugh, I don't even want to think about what I have to do.
-Replace 80 feet of exterior fencing that was knocked down/rotted out
    -Repaint exterior of house
-In backyard, kill grass, rototill entire backyard, level, resod
    -Build 3 8' x 10' planter boxes for wife's garden
-Build 8' x 10' platform for base of a new shed (which also needs to be assembled)
-Install subway tiles in kitchen for backsplash (which apparently needs to be on 3 walls, per the wife)
    -Recessed lighting in living room
-Change electrical outlets in new baby's room to outlets with babyproofing built in
-Do the same thing I do every night, try and take over the world

Welp...... looks like I better get to work. Yes that's a mulch pile that's as big as my truck. 20 yards, and that's only half of what I ordered.

This is something I really should do in my backyard. The ground is incredibly uneven from years of settling. However it would cost a small fortune. I have been thinking of doing a section every summer and growing grass from scratch. I still need to look into those options.

-Build 8' x 10' platform for base of a new shed (which also needs to be assembled)

I started this yesterday. Piers already have been poured. Just need to get some flat room to square it up.
