Through towns been about the same. Highway 1-2mpg better consistent. Have to calculate the difference in actual mileage traveled due to the speedo reading low. But it’s always higher than before.

Mind you I have a regular cab and don’t have to push all the double cab weight or even access cab weight. My tundra weights damn near as much as my 01 Tacoma +200 lbs. ratio charts put it into an acceptable rear end ratio for the 33s

Weight wise my tires are similar to the 32s I had. I went skinnier on the tires

Lower friction due to less foot print.

Definitely something to consider. But I have my doubts, since it does just fine offroad with my stock gears and 295/75r16s. I just can't see 35s with 4.30 gears and a rear locker being problematic on the vvti v8. It already does almost about anything I want it to in 4lo and 1st gear. Plus like I said I spend more time on the highway than I do in the city or offroad. I'd rather try to find a happy medium among all 3 driving types than be best at one of the types of driving I do least.

Different strokes for different folks! I went through hassle of dirty fives for improved off road performance, so that’s the angle I’m coming from at the end of the day. The truck still gets up to 90 quick, god forbid I need it to is a different story.

I live in a land where I rarely need to get on a freeway; and I absolutely love it! There are literally like 4 times a year I get on the freeway and it’s only for long distance purposes. Everything else is local(35mph posted………..not always obeyed) or 55-65 rural roads to trails or local getaways. I’m not ready to dive down the gear ratio rabbit hole of info, but it is definitely on the back burner as other projects get knocked out and time avails!

The 33s get me anywhere I need to be. This trucks mostly for towing anyway.

if you find yourself up around here then we can arrange that.

but 90% of people avoid this area like the plague. and thats part of its charm to me. LOL

i do plan on making my way down to Arizona at some point to meet with some Tacoma peeps for a little wheeling and picking up goodies.

but i take it easy.. this thing will still need to do 24 hrs of driving home. LOL

and now is when i get to inform you of my biggest issue.

i have a seriously small menu due to my mind being a mess from getting deathly ill as a child. But hey, i do totally love exploring the land!

theres a lot of things that i love the smell of and want to eat. but if i do, i practically get sick within an hour and am done for the day.. it sucks.

so you're running the 2886 and not the 2885 springs up front?
I'm assuming the stiffer longer spring makes up for lift since people run these with 5100s on lower or bottom notch? Currently I'm on the 3rd circlip (I think) and OEM springs.

    EDIT:
Also still trying to figure out if I should do the ATS 3/1 or HD 4/1 leafs......
I'd like to get rid of the 1.25" rear blocks but not sure if the HD 4/1 leafs would do it or not.

good. That's what I was thinking. But that spring on the bottom clip is basically like oem springs on 5100 3rd clip lift height?

But I am running 885s, lowest setting.

I’m guessing 886 would be good for a beefy bumper.

I’d be bringing an empty trailer to pickup a Tacoma frame and some other Tacoma/4runner stuff.

I have no intentions of a different than OE bumper so I would guess the 885s should be fine.

Perfect timing, too. Hit sedona and big bend in the same trip, and stop in terlingua on the trip home to be disappointed by the chili.

Finally got the bumper back on after having it, tailgate and topper painted. Did not do as much to the bumper frame as I wanted to, painting wise....will wait till fall. Seems junior mint barney fife in town felt it necessary to pull me over and even tho he seemed more interested in talking the condition of the tundra, he let me know don't let him catch me in town again without proper bumper.

It's similar to Ron White story...."The arresting officer, who I had literally known, all my life. You know what I mean? This guy lived four doors down the street me, in a town of less than four hundred people. *We've met.* Now, he takes me to jail, and he asks me if I have any aliases."....we've known each other over 10 years....oh well, F him !
