Regarding the Tundra roll down rear window.....

I have a truck with the 2nd biggest roll down rear window, when I roll it down, anything that's in the bed that can be swirled up by moving air ends up getting sucked into the cab, often times right into my damn eyes. I need to be sure the bed is completely clean.

Is that the same with the Tundra?

In all my off-roading in my 4Runner and now Tundra, I have never come across something that ATRAC couldn’t get me over or out of. I’m not crawling up and over boulders like @ColoradoTJ, but I scoot right up and over anything I can fit over. Steep hills with loose gravel in the rain? No problem. Deep, loose sand? No problem either.

ATRAC is that good. I used to think I was going to add a rear locker to my truck. But the more I get out there on trails, I just don’t think I’m missing anything by not having one.

All that to say, if the new Tundra has ATRAC but no rear locker, I don’t think I’ll be upset about it.

I thought the 1794 leather was ugly as hell until I saw it in person. Then I drove off the lot with one. I'm sure I'll feel the same way when I see the new Pro with the red leather. I seriously doubt I'll be able to drive off the lot with one. I'm afraid I'm going to be priced out of any of the new higher end Tundras. No complaints though. I love my 2020 Pro.

Two big dogs and a young son = black interiors for me just to keep the interior looking somewhat clean. Even when it isn’t.

I do not want a pano sunroof on a truck. Our ES350 has one and it's nice, but every time I wash it I have to make sure to use the chamois or microfiber or it waterspots bad. I don't even want to think about climbing up to wipe down the truck roof like that every time.

The Landcruiser in most years and in recent gen's had full time 4wd, sway bar disconnects, low range for the 4wd, and locking center diff that can shift 50-70% of available torque to the rear wheels. It also has crawl control and off road turn assist. The LC tame looks fool people, the off capability is better than any 4x4 that toyota builds in stock form.

The panoramic sun roof thing makes me think it looks more like a Ford Flex and less like a serious truck.

The red seats - eh…Wife’s Alfa has them, they are nice in that vehicle - as it’s different. Something that draws attention to you and makes it easy for tow drivers to spot.

The Rebel has them - and I have always thought the Rebel seemed to have a bit of an identity crisis. They want to be young and hip - but those buyers go Jeep. Full sized trucks are for middle aged men and work. The few who want a “sport” truck have a lot of choices these days - and the Pro at 55k have a nice canvass to work off of AND clock in lower price wise than anything else in the segment.

A 65k Pro that looks like a Rebel inside and a Ford parts-mobile on the out. Gonna be a tough sell to me. Buyers will just opt to spend 15k more and grab a Raptor or a price adjusted TRX once the market settles down and the new factor wears off.

Also looking at photo again - looks like the roll down back window is confirmed to carry over to 2022 AND that the sunroof will be an up charge on the Pro (will it be like present on CM only or up charge on all trims offering)

I’ll do you one better. Don’t wash it. That’s what the rain is for and wgaf if it has water spots on the roof!

The 2022 is the 3rd Gen.

The current truck is a 2nd Gen with a refresh to sheet metal. Still the same frame, axles, engine, suspension, brakes, etc as a 2007. I realize on this forum it’s not seen that way, but by the standards of any other manufacturers it would be a refresh within a common generation of vehicle.

If I were to find a loaded 4x4 platinum Sequoia at a good price :bananadance: but when it comes to offroad, she is fat compared to my GX. That fat as would get drug off steps too.

I have California Water Blade. Very soft silicon rubber. Works great at clearing water off of glass and sheet metal after a wash. Makes the final dry off with a Chamois super easy, just stay off the glass with the Chamois.

I don't see the market settling down any time soon.
There's still significant disruptions all around.

We'll be lucky to get back to normal in 3 years, better hope China doesn't make good on threats to invade Taiwan..... that's next.....

I went to the nearest Toyota dealer, in Missoula, and they had no vehicles in the showroom and no new Tundras. The closest thing was a 2019 Crewmax 1794 for $52,000 marked down from $62,000.

I spoke to a salesman at the Toyota Dealership, his opinion was that Toyota was stalling in order to sell all their old stock before the 2022s come out. Frustrating as it may be, sounds logical enough coming from a car company.

In my life I've owned two vehicles with sunroofs and two convertibles. The convertibles usually were driven with the tops down, only when it was raining out were the tops up. With the two vehicles with sunroofs I remember opening them to see how they operated when I first got the cars then never using them again. To me sunroofs are like spinning hubcaps, useless bling that I'd rather not have and would never pay extra for. I hope Toyota doesn't put them on 95% of the Tundras they make so they can jack up the price like they're known to do with a lot of their option packages. That's one of my main complaints with Toyota, they like to load down vehicles with expensive options to drive the price up and you have to buy it to get some small option you need.

For the interior colors, anything as long as it isn't black. I hope they don't get on a black interior kick and make it hard to find other colors. I split my time between Mississippi and Florida and vehicles with black interiors are awful in the summer down here, they get so hot if you park them in the sun that it's almost dangerous to get into them. I've had plastic objects deform when left inside a vehicle with a black interior because it got so hot.

GX460 has a 23 degree departure angle, current Sequoia is 21 degree. GX460 has a 21 degree approach angle, current Sequoia has 27 degree approach angle.

If you can't get the Lexus chin over an obstacle the departure angle is of no importance. GX460 has Crawl Control and a solid rear axle, but that chin . . . . . .

And again, the current Sequoia has the same turning circle as a GX460, a 4th Gen 4Runner, a 5th Gen 4Runner, and the LC200. Just made no sense to do a lateral move instead of a clear upgrade to a roomier SUV.

I'm not sure why they would need to stall. Toyota lots are empty with Tundras around here.

The fact of the matter is that Toyota will sell out all the 22s they can pump out. No matter how people here react to the lack of news. Not releasing info for a few months is really just an insignificant bleep in the long run. Especially considering car manufacturers can't keep up with demand do to the chip shortages.
