I hope they don't have red interiors. They are garish and gross.

Sunroof looks cool...not for me though, it would be horrible to have a truck camper smack that glass on a hard bump....lol

Not exactly a sun-roof; but my 1985 Toyota Corolla had a Moon Roof and I had absolutely zero issues with it all the way up through when I sold it in 2004. So, I can vouch that their 1985 design lasted at least 19 years.

"TRD Pro interior shown in Red with available panoramic moonroof. Prototype shown with options."

I had a TLX A spec red and I'll take a TRD pro in red too. Sounds like ordering red would make it more available lol

You can always get seat covers in whatever color you want. You could even get ones with a camo Chevy Bowtie on them!

Hopefully, we got my wife an RX350 F Sport with the Red Interior, and I love it - I'll gladly take the red interior.

Man if the TRD red is anything like the Lexus red interiors it’s going to be amazing.

it’ll prob be so good it’ll change the decisions some have already made.

I’ll also say, usually red interiors don’t picture well but in person they’re amazing.

Good to see they kept the rear window!! I love that option. Panoramic roof is alright by me as with the red leather...I like it. Would look really nice on a black or white Pro.

I had a 1987 Prelude Si from 1993 to 2018. I knew to occasionally blow out the drains and I garaged the car, but yeah that sunroof never had an issue. However, 21st century cars haven't been to good to us, our 2006 Impreza the sunroof close relay failed, and that's built into the sunroof motor, so not a simple fix.
The sunroof in my 2016 GTI needed special lubricant to prevent squeaking, it went in to the shop several times until VW decided to replace it at 15k miles due to obvious seal degradation.
My Q60 has a sunroof, a very few people have had an issue where the passenger side drain pops out of the firewall and soaks the BCM and carpet :facepalm:and is a major pita to repair.

Obviously you'd assume Toyota would be better, but remember the Scion Tc roof would shatter on it's own, and Toyotas newest pano roofs look to be built the same as the one in my GTI and newer Audis.

Ok let's just say it'd be reliable on the Tundra. I do use my truck off-road, and it bares the scares of boulders and trees. I would be concerned about so much exposed glass with the way I push through trees, or on switchbacks where vehicles above you can cause a rock to fall on top of your vehicle.

So, being able to choose no sunroof on the off-road trims would be important to me. But, not a deal breaker.

Moonroof was a must have option for me when i bought my 2017 Limited. I love using it in conjunction with the rear roll down window. Seeing the pano moonroof is pretty sweet! So far the only thing I'm not on board with is the red leather. But I'm sure thats just an option on the TRDPro so no big deal.

I love it. I lament the fact that all the interesting car interior colors died in the 90s. All black interiors are dower and uninspired.

Nice looking Pano roof, but it's not something I have to have. Having owned a Tundra with the power rear window, I do have to have the power rear window!

I have had numerous vehicles with power roofs and they have received limited use. The power rear window however, is in regular use...love it!

Also welcome some bright interior options...bring it:thumbsup:

BRRAAAHHHH!!!!! No blackout edition for you ahh? LOL

I couldn’t agree with you more. I feel the overwhelming majority of vehicles I drive/ride in have anemic interiors. Not one has ever “wowed” me. And I been fortunate enough to ride in high end models with the major manufacturers (Toyota,Nissan, Ford, Chevy, Ram, Dodge). A Mercedes 8 series, that kinda of wowed me…

I agree, my Audi interior is very nice, but the rest of the interiors I've seen across most of the rest of the major car mfgrs... are boring. My Tundra interior is basic and functional, don't need anything fancy there.

The color I'd want for interior is a dark saddle brown, but that depends on the paint color to coordinate. Anything light (gray/white/cream) will stain like crazy including from your jeans.

I like that red is an option. Reminds me of my favorite muscle cars.

    upload_2021-7-13_12-19-40.jpg

Not that it would be my personal favorite but still cool. The 1794 saddle leather is pretty legit too!

The interior color I tend to hate more and more is gray. I also hate that gray seems to be the only interior color option with many exterior colors that Toyota offers.

If you're serious about an SUV check out used 5.7l Sequoias. I never considered one til it was decided this year we needed a bigger, stronger 4WD to replace the 240k miles '07 4Runner 4.7l V8 4WD. After research I found the Sequoia has some advantages compared to the GX460 and 5th Gen 4Runners.

    - Longer and wider, much more cargo capacity, much stronger engine.
    - Amazingly, it has the same 40' turning circle as the '07 Runner, the 5th Gen 4Runner and the GX460.
    - 1.5" more stock ground clearance than the GX460.
    - Sequoia has the same Torsen locking center diff for full-time 4WD, 4LO, and also has 2WD in the 4WD package.

Of course, what always comes up in reviews is poor fuel mileage. So wanting to make a good decision I looked at fuelly.com for real world MPG. Toyota Sequoia MPG - Actual MPG from 159 Toyota Sequoia owners (fuelly.com) 14-17 mpg.

    Fuelly.com for GX460 Lexus GX460 MPG - Actual MPG from 180 Lexus GX460 owners (fuelly.com) 16-19 mpg.

Looked at some other jumbo-size 4WD SUV's for offroad specs and MPG's.

Tahoe 5.3l V8 mpg Chevrolet Tahoe MPG - Actual MPG from 1,372 Chevrolet Tahoe owners (fuelly.com) 13-18 mpg.

Expedition 3.5l turbo Ford Expedition MPG - Actual MPG from 1,397 Ford Expedition owners (fuelly.com) 12-18 mpg.

The clear winner was the '19 Sequoia SR5. Just a great overall, all things considered, jumbo size 4WD SUV.

I want to see the next gen Sequoia hybrid but this 5.7l is satisfying.

Ford, Chevy, Dodge have been building 1/2 ton pickups since 1920. Toyota didn't break into the 1/2 ton market til 2000 and still don't have a 3/4 ton. They're still trying to get a larger market share and going uphill against the longtime leaders, we'll see how it pans out.

Not sure how I feel about the big panoramic sun roof on the 2022. I don’t use the sunroof in my other vehicles much, so probably not of much interest to me. Hopefully it will be a stand alone option, I don’t want to be forced to have one in order to get other desirable options in a package.

Panoramic sunroofs are notorious for squeaking and creaking, no matter the brand.

BTW the new Landcruiser is triple-locked. Even the 4.0 V6 comes with 3 lockers. Could bode well for the upcoming Tundra

Sunroof is pretty useless to me. Only time I use it is on the rare occasion that something is overhead I want the boys to see. Otherwise, it stays closed with the shade closed. Don't need the heat or light coming in from above when I'm trying to drive.

I will predict no option for 3 lockers on the Tundra. For some reason Toyota saw fit to never offer them on the current truck, maybe their research shows 1/2 ton customers mostly don’t care?

For record I will be happy to be proven wrong on this, and many other predictions of Toyota going the cheap route.

That is about where I am with a big sun roof.

Maybe I’ll feel differently if I test drive a truck with one? Can’t rule it out.

I'm no LC expert, but I believe the LC was generally not equipped with locking differentials, and the 200 relied on A-TRAC instead.

I'm really hoping that since a lower model LC300 now gets triple lockers (admittedly in countries that may have had OEM locked LC previously) that it'll carry over to our new Tundra.

These days every truck has locker options. I have rear locker on my current truck and really use it often, love it.
