When I add the hitch, I plan on adding the cooler too. But I’m gonna put 37’s on 24’s with an 8” Ready-lift on it first.

    Oh yeah…good thinking!
I’m gonna need ditch lights and rock lights on it too.
It does already have a locking diff though! ;) :boink:

Depends - if I put a Hypertech in it, then I’ll actually know the real MPG.

I'm once again asking for your advice....

I have 4 corners like this where my house is lacking any kickout flashing. Naturally, I've found wood rot in at least 2 of those corners where water was going down the siding instead of into the gutters. I've been reading about installing kickout, but I'm not clear how I can do that without removing the hardie plank.

And no, I didn't add those giant globs of caulk. That was my gutter installer.

I think I can slide a piece of flashing under the hardie, but I'm not sure if that will open myself up to more issues. Would love some feedback from the group.

I'm almost POSITIVE that is supposed to go under the shingle and hardie board.

@Fotnot From the videos I've seen I think you're correct but they also installed it first, then the siding. I didn't see anyone that was able to just slide it up under existing siding. I think the Hardie plank is laid from the top down so just removing one piece doesn't seem likely. Water is currently trickling back into the fascia so I've got to fix this. May have to get creative with how I do it.

This is what should have been done.

So the flashing along the roofing is supposed to be a step flashing. Each piece is laid under a single row of roofing, so the one in the left of this picture is on top of the first row of shingles but under the second one. Sort of like weaving.

This. That little white angle coming out from under the hardie is essentially doing nothing and water is just flowing right under it and into your wall if there isn't any step flashing behind there.

Slowly but surely I’ve been getting the basement finally finished. Finally got the walls painted in the main room and started the LVP flooring earlier today. Other pics are buried deep in the thread somewhere

Lucky for me, as I was placing my last board this morning I caught the tip of my finger with the mallet. Good times, good times… o_O

Over the weekend my moms houses needed regraded after 50 years of mulch and trees being removed. My BIL did the grading and I surprised mom with new plants on my birthday!?

    Thanks

    Waterproof Barrier Protection
When this tape is applied to the top of decking joists, over ledger boards, and around support posts, it creates a waterproof seal that helps stop decay and wood rot. Rot is caused by moisture that stays in contact with treated and untreated lumber deck framing and the above decking material.

What kind of decking is this? And does your township require permits for building decks?

Trying to map out some sort of peanut shaped looking concrete patio for a table set and firepit. Was gonna the table on the left (about 12ft) circle and fire pit on the right (about 14ft) with a 36” pit in the middle. Then swap the flagstone for pavers. Any thoughts?

Scored a 5 channel passive soundbar for $100 off marketplace. It’s the Polk Surroundbar 50. Should work out as a good compromise to having the full 5.1 setup I used to have. Not the right space for full tower speakers like I had before. Got all the cable pulled for speaker bar and tv through the smurf tube. Got tv remounted and bar in place, now to just get everything hooked up and working to the home theater receiver again! Sub will go in the corner behind the av rack of gear. Might put my second sub behind the couch for some additional kick but having laminate floor and vaulted ceilings vs carpet and 8ft ceiling at the old house, it may not be needed. Quite a bit of reverberation due to the hard floors vs carpet. Will also be reattaching the speaker grill most likely

Went through this several years back...it just so happened that my Dad, a friend of mine, and my pastor (who was also an electrician) was helping. Was swinging the hammer (one of those big framing suckers) and hit my left thumb *dead* to rights.

Immediately stood up, trying not to swear with EVERYTHING I had in me...and with tears glanced @ the pastor, who had this huge smile on his face as if to say "I KNOW what you're gonna say...."

A few seconds later I said ".....darn?" He collapsed on the floor in laughter and said "I KNOW that ain't what you were thinking!"

He said a few minutes later that HE would have cussed a blue streak had he hit his thumb like that.
