No, he was unceremoniously shit-canned for violating a rule that is arbitrarily, subjectively and selectively enforced. The proof is in the fact that the violations occur on page after page of thread after thread unenforced, tolerated and overlooked.

Yes indeed! I’m a stickler for pipe pitch, “pitch bitch” and a stickler for fender washers……… the fender bender?

Anytime I'm mounting something on something that's relatively thin/lightweight/delicate I try to use fender washers! If some aren't available I'll make a square one out of some sort of metal that I have available.

Yeah ima buy extra for the chinsey washers that are on the bed mating clamp to the shell; I also know fiberglass can crush if your not careful, that’s why I want to spread the load more better

Seems many of the 3rd gen people out in CA know each other in person and hang out. That's the impression I get at least.

I know @papasmurf helped to build @Sunnier truck, probably because first gens are awesome. :muscleflexing:

Erik is right, a lot of the newer gen guys in CA hang out and work on trucks together.

Kind of… but not really. ;)

It’s true, Bruce would probably have built a 1st Gen for the first blessed soul to show up with a worthy truck and access to cash for parts— I got damned lucky!

When I first started hanging out in his driveway, there were 2nd and 3rd Gens there every weekend. But that’s ebbed as he’s moved on to other work, projects, hobbies, and honey-do’s.

Mostly, the easy newcomers-welcome Shenanigans dirt runs are where people get to know each other. Anyone that goes out with us on a couple of runs, updates their trucks to mid-travel and starts adding mods… I think maybe we should seek a kick-back… but most of us are useless at truck repair, and have to work OT shifts at our day gigs to pay other people to work on our trucks.:anonymous:

I have started tackling projects on Hulk, learning as I go. Working on a 1st Gen is less intimidating than working on a 3rd. Could be the number of payments remaining….

I don't ever think I'll understand my father. I've continually offered to help him work on the 71 Cutlass convertible sitting in his garage since I was 16. I've even offered to pitch in and buy whatever he's missing to get him to finish yet he wants to do it by himself and he can't at the age of 83 living off social security.

I recently asked him what he'd do if he won 50K in the lottery and he immediately says he'd finish the Cutlass. SMH

Well that was a pain in the ass. HOPEFULLY I torqued all the hardware down and didn’t miss anything. I disliked that job quite a bit. Mostly cause I was on my hands, knees and back.

Sometimes you start the project too late or it's a long project. Or it's just painful enough that beers are mandatory. This was a project started at 6pm and ended at 2pm.

This is what I did for a few years but the issue is that I suspect air is still trapped in that maze of lines that runs to the ABS module on the other side. So removing the fuses solved my false ABS activation I was having but doesn't remove the air that I still compress when I do my double pump b.s. with the brake pedal. After yesterday, the pedal isn't perfect but now when I hit the brakes they bite harder and it was stopping quicker without me having to double pump. We'll see if it lasts.
