I'd soak it in blaster as long as ya can and the socket trick if ya don't have replacement ones. Iirc on mine came out easily and other had to be cut.

I cut one side of the bushing easily but the other is way thicker even with the bolt out. Still working on it. Looking at the SPC cam bolt kit it comes with a plastic bushing so I’m a little Leary about using them. Is it worth spending another $190 on OEM camber bolts/eccentric washers and stuff cause I can get them at the dealer today

A few people have tried the SPC ones and I don't remember seeing any issues. That's probably what I'll order when I eventually replace mine.

I have them. No issues so far. I'm a poor test case though.

I had my mechanic order a new gas cap for my Tundra just to get it done. Charged me $30 for the OE cap with leash. and it's done! No code so far :fingerscrossed:

Hope it holds out for you. IIRC the programs in our trucks have to run through a series of specific events before the code will come back and the closest dealer to me wants $48 and I'm not one to just throw parts at an issue before verifying the root cause, so I'm going to check a few other related parts of the system before buying a cap that isn't going to solve the problem. Having said that, it wouldn't surprise me if the cap does need replaced because of 20 years in the desert heat and I'm sure it's the original cap. I definitely need to go over all the rubber lines for the EVAP system for cracking and dry-rotting and replace or trim as necessary.

I have had the SPC ones for about 2 years. I too saw the plastic sleeve and thought wtf but no problems yet.

As far as your tires go, paint them black. Good luck.

When trying to purge air from the ABS, would you guys skip the usual bleeding sequence and just bleed the front wheels closest to the ABS module?

I saw some improvement tonight but I'm going to try it one more time. If PHM was still around I'd dig up that post from last month and tell him to kiss my ass.

Just brake delete and be happy!

Have you tried a vacuum bleeder like I use at work?

I would seriously like to know if I could remove ABS all together but that's another story.

But yes, I have a one man vacuum bleeder but I really don't think it's a great one. Hasn't worked as well as the 2 person method. Maybe I'll give the reverse brake bleeder another shot.

You can order all the factory parts to make it a non ABS truck. Then you just need to figure out how to kill the light (or just pull the bulbs)

may turn off just unplugging the ABS module

Just wait until the end of the month. You'll have to give me a quick crash course on ABS because nothing we own has it that I know of.

    Whelp,
I stalled out (sitting here helpless for the past 5 hours) as I needed better sawzall blades but don’t have another vehicle to run to the store. I also have the kiddos so gotta wait for the wife to get home, sport the hoopdy sienna to Home Depot and then the dealer for OE cam bolt kits, THEN family pictures and hopefully by 9pm I’ll be able to get back in the garage!

Oh I would have to do a bunch of research before I removed it. The brake lines going to and from are a confusing mess. We can study when you're here.

You need the blades that are rated for this level of metal.

@jpink's truck takes priority obviously. Now if it's the end of the day, and you want to spend about 20 minutes eyeballing it before we crack open a few frostys...

backstory - I'd just gotten truck back from mechanic resolving all evap codes. Gas cap felt funny last time I put it on, then CEL couple days later. I R&R'd the cap & it just felt right. Couple more days & CEL cleared. So I'm fairly confident at 18 years & 215k miles my issue was the cap.

    The SoAz….. big surprise
    Vehicle:
2006 DC 4.88s Elocker and some other trippy stuff
    Bone stock
After pestering Erik for a bit about……racks…….. I decided to add some speedholes to the camper shell!
I cut down front runner roof tracks to fit the shells roof and still have mounting points inside the thicker honey comb. 60” long by 36.5 wide(center to center)
As most of my projects go, I have to improvise because I’m working by myself, even when someone is home, so rags and bricks held the track down to contour the shells roof while I drilled holes into that sweet sweet fiberglass! I’ve got a tube of BLACK self leveling lap sealant for all the holes and screw heads. I’ve got to pick up more hardware and bigger fender washers for underneath. I’ll be getting better cross bars in the future, but for now I’ll cut some shallow strut and mount that to the tracks, and then mount a ARB 2500 awning to those.
