I would have gone with a higher end coilover set up, but I live in the middle of nowhere in northern Ontario with heavily salted roads and nowhere nearby to rebuild suspension. I figured the bilsteins would be a decent enough option for longevity. Also the reason I decided not to go with aftermarket uca’s, getting parts is a little trickier in my neck of the woods.

The SCSB trucks will sit a touch higher due to less weight and where its sitting but Id say go for it.. Be sure to post pics :)

@Coachbuilder1 What was the recommended rake you said Tundras should have? I cant seem to find the old post by searching. I currently have 5100s top and swapping for 6112 and torn between 1.9 and 2.5 setting. I also have your +3 shackles and 3 total shims. I was considering 1.9 + 2 driver shims and 1 passenger. Thanks.

Thanks. Mine is currently 1.375” rake. I just switched my 6112 to the 2.5 setting. Go big or go home right.

You can with the right offset. I ran a 2" lift on my truck for a few months until my current Eibachs got installed. No issues clearing 35s

My tire is over an inch taller and wider and I'm on +20 offset rims, and the Ridge grapplers. I was scraping the inside plastic fender well and the skid plate. Easy fix, but no cutting. But, I also love the look, so why change.

I just picked up a set of 6112/5160. They are set on the top setting. Someone posted and I also saw it on the Toytec website that the lift heights are different for the 4x2(3.3) vs 4x4(2.5). My truck is 4x2. So is this true and verified. Anyone have a 4x2 set on the top setting and got 3.3? Want to make sure so I don’t have to do all the work twice.

That’s the specs I saw. If I leave it at the top settings then I would most likely have to do uca and a bigger rear lift shackle. If I drop it then no uca and a 1- 1.5 shackle.

You can always ask @Coachbuilder1 as well, just for verification, but those specs are probably right.

Yes it is true. I contacted bilstein directly and got the same info. Mine settled at 3.25 of lift in the front. Really like the look with a 1.5 inch lift with the shackle in the rear. I have maybe 1/4 in of rake.

Hi y’all !! Do the 6112’s require an extended bump stop at highest setting ?? Thinking about adding a 1/4 spacer as well as SPC atms real soon.

Just wanted to give an update. I upgraded my 285/75/17 tires (roughly 33.8”) with 315/70/17 BFG ATs (roughly 34.4”). I’m on 2 year old 6112s with close to 50K miles on the 1.9” setting, so it’s possible the coils may have settled to slightly less height over time (maybe 1/8”?). Anyway, only slight rubbing in reverse - not sure exactly where at the moment, though.

Haven’t installed the shackles yet. No BMC up front. I think it’s hitting the mud flaps when turning in reverse.

I should’ve clarified that I removed the front bumper plastic piece long ago before I installed these tires. I’m reluctant to remove the front mud flaps behind the tire for fear of throwing up excess rocks and dirt. I may try using a heat gun or cutting some of it, though, if that’s where the rubbing is occurring.

Got 2 different quotes and just wondering what the best direction is.

both for the 6112/5160 set up, with KMC 544 Mesa wheels 18"

one with Falken Wildpeak at3w's and the other with the Les Schwab Open Range both at 295/70/r18

one comes with SPC UCA's, as well as a 1/2 spacer to get to the full 3", a rear bearing drop and the Icon ADD.

    the difference is about $1400.

My question is: is the UCA, spacer, drop and Falken over open range, worth $1,400? or is this a pay once cry once and get it all? What can I do without, and what is absolutely needed?

SPC uca are nice I just put some in last week but you don’t need them for 6112 top setting. If you’re not lifting the rear you dont need carrier bearing drop. Everything I’ve read about Icon leafs was squeaking regret. Personally I’d save the $1400. If you’re handy you can get shackles and put them in yourself.

Another update - They were rubbing the part of the mud flap that covers the body mount. That part of the mud flap actually sticks out towards the tire. Not sure why they designed it that way. Mind you, the rub is only in reverse and at full turn. The tires are still a good distance away from the actual body mount at full turn. Easy fix by either cutting that part of the mud flap off or using heat to push it in.
