According to what year and whether it's sliding or powered up/down, there are numerous you-tubes and also FSM floating around here for certain years that will have instructions.

Suggest you consider adding your Vehicle Description(Year/Trim) info to your Personal Details !

just checked my front tires and 99% sure they are cupping already with my new tires that only have like 1,300miles. I am doing the lower control arms and other than that all the suspension is practically new so I'm not sure what else could be causing it but it really pisses me off.

edit: actually only 1300 miles not 4000 miles on them.

Alignment.. or if they’re e range, not enough weight on the truck

So I thought alignment and I would have to look back at the printout when I had it done last year or the year prior but it seemed ok. I had the same issue with the previous BFG K02 tires (6ply) but these are 10ply so you think that could contribute?

    Have your tires rebalanced.
My sequoias fronts cup and wear the insides, but it needs all the alignment and bushings.

Yea e range on a lighter truck will cup easier. Balance is probably something you’ll want to really look into.

but they are new and were balanced 1300 miles ago. My only hope is that the aftermarket lower ball joints that are a few years old as the probably OE lower control arm bushings with 209K miles are shot and causing the issue. Otherwise everything else only has about 10K miles at most:
tie rods inner and outer (5K miles)
    upper ball joints (400 miles)
    upper control arms (400 miles)
    steering rack bushings (8K miles)
    5100s (10K miles)
There is nothing else suspension wise to replace

ok, I've gotta swap lower arms/ball joints tomorrow, get an alignment scheduled and then I'll take it in for a rotate/balance.

Find a shop that does road force balancing. Do you feel any vibrations driving?

In the mornings I feel some 'wheel hop' at certain speeds but that mostly goes away 5 minutes or so down the road. I feel like road force balancing is overrated but I'll see who in town does it cause I don't remember.

    edit:
sounds like Discount Tire near me does

Road force most of the time is honestly a waste. But there’s it points where it’s worth doing. This would be one of them.. at the very least you may find out the tires have high spots.

Are you running the stock coils? I'm not sure of the pound rating on them but if the coil springs are too light they may be a/the contributing factor here. It's very possible they can't keep up with the unsprung weight of a heavier tire. I know many people from the Jeep XJ world that have had the same problem because it is a light vehicle with light coils. I always ran 320-350 pound coils on mine and never had that issue. Keeps the heavyweight tires planted firmly. Just a thought.

Coils can be an issue too. But I chased my Tacoma cupping e range tires forever. Ultimately if it’s a lot of street driving that truck was just too light for e range. 6 ply the issue was gone. Tundra should technically be ok… but yea… it’s a light full size

My issue is that the truck did this with 6ply tires as well so I'm only hoping its the control arm bushings

You can always try the OME 886 or w/e combination with energy Suspension isolators. Mines running 5100s with 886 springs in the bottom notch. Rides great. Too soon to see if the tires will cup though. Not even 1k on them yet

It's not related to cupping, but it's interesting none the less.

I bought my tundra with 50k on the clock. It had brand new tires but it was already on its 4th set at 50k. I ran through some 90k rated Michelins in 12k. Those suckers wore in the middle like they were over inflated even though I specifically was running 25-30psi in the tires. I replaced my front shocks with 5100s and got new tires but nothing changed. I ran through some grabber ATs in 10k again. I assumed it was just the nature of the beast. I got an alignment at every shop in my area (probably an alignment every 4-6 months)

I eventually put new LBJs in and the tires seemed to stop wearing entirely. I now have some Falken Wildpeaks and they have probably 20k on them and they still look brand new.

Through this whole process, I also learned nobody but the Toyota dealership in my area can balance a tire with my rims if their life depended on it.

I originally put aftermarket lower ball joints in when I first got the truck. Then I learned the crappy dangers of aftermarket ones and now have OEM ones I’ll install today. Still, Hoping between those and new lower control arms it takes care of the issue

    …To Be Continued

I just saw this and that you are running 5100's with the stock coils. By all means, start with the basics (tire balancing, correct alignment, replace the parts you have) and eliminate those components as the culprits but I have a strong suspicion the stock coils combined with the heavier tires (6 and 10 ply) are the biggest factor in your cupping issue. I could be incorrect, too, though, and hope I am.

Took the truck to work last night to add some fuel and it threw the P0446 code for EVAP system. I may not have tightened the cap enough, idk. Popped the hood and discovered one of the larger vacuum lines for the system was pulled back slightly from the nylon junction fittings due to cracking at the end. Pushed the line all the way back on and reset the CEL. We'll see. I'll have to look at it when I have time. Hard to do much or want to do much working nights. Probably does need the cap replaced. Local dealer wants $48. Haha!

I did the same. I ran AC Delco LBJs for about 30k and they did good. I liked that they were greasable. I now have OEM LBJs for the peace of mind.

Those AC Delco ones were pretty tough. I got a lot of air with them and did quite a bit of offroading. I popped off the rubber boot on one by overgreasing, but that was my only complaint.

Ok @empty_lord or anyone else. I finally got the cam bolts out but I can’t seem to remove the bushing by pounding it out or the adjuster washers. Any advice?
