Dilbert broke the dumpster, and the hopper has been in this big dumpster for 3 days. Apparently, the hill people I work for left it until I came back to work. Flying solo.

I'm taking an unregistered smoke break inside the big dumpster. That's a new one. 20210707_184529.jpg

We’ve got a Navian boiler with 2 zones of radiant and an indirect water heater for domestic hot water. Works wondefully and NEVER run out of hot water. Garage stays 70 degrees in the winter too

Plumbers at work said navian use stainless heat exchanger vs copper in other brands, the one I put in for our plumber was a Navian; he wanted the best!

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you who have posted images and words of your experiences doing an exhaust manifold replacement. The tool suggestions and other insights will undoubtedly come in handy as I prep to do mine. Just waiting for a couple more parts to roll in and then finding the time to do it. Work schedule is even busier this time of year as all the auto manufacturers release their new MY's.

We have some sort of cheap ass big gurl tankless water heater. It's electric. Pops installed it, and three years later a heater burnt out. I found a new heater for it at a local place of all places, and popped two new ones in.

    Works gud

How many years ago was that? Things are expensive now! I'm getting 4 quotes. If someone comes in significantly lower then we'll know if it's rape. So far, both have been around $1,800. Personally, I'm not sure I want to mess with something that has the potential to kill me with carbon monoxide just to save a little money.

I have faith in you. I’ll be doing a tankless when it’s time, maybe a whole house filtration down the line, our water sucks here…….
Send some pics to darkness and he will steer you in the right direction; most tankless use pvc as the vent now, so if you have easy access to vent outside, pvc is super easy to deal with

Really isn't that bad, and your flue should line up easily. It builds capillary action so it won't leak into your house. For the gas line you need a spray bottle with water and dish soap, spray the connections and look for bubbles. No bubbles means no problem.

I trust you with zero experience over half the plumbers I worked with :rofl:seriously.

But if you get a reasonable bid I get it, warranty on labor is usually a year. My pricing is stuck in 2012.

Quite a few of my exhaust hangers are rusted almost all the way through... I've been chewing on ordering a complete exhaust system, but unsure what direction I want to go with.

I like the quietness of my exhaust, but think I've read that there's little to be gained from long tubes or short tubes on my engine. That was a number of years ago so maybe I read it wrong...

Just kinda unsure. Last thing I want is for my whole exhaust to fall out while I'm choogling at 60MPH.

For the 3.4. It’s not the best sounding engine. Keep it OE or close. 3rd gen taco mufflers pop up cheap all the time. Have an exhaust built off one of those

If you want loud pipes, you gotta cover it with blower whine. My stockish ‘97 4runner had a k&n filter and all the intake baffles plugged, and was heavy and slow enough i could let it howl for minutes, and not be speeding.
