If there was a way to get myself a fresh Sourdough Ultimate Cheeseburger on the east coast, I would order that too.

I miss the California from my childhood.

I love a sourdough jack. When I was younger my friends and I would "hack" them by ordering a jumbo jack with cheese, and asking them to sub the bun for sourdough. They didn't charge extra so you'd get the same sandwich plus lettuce and pickles for almost $2 less!

Last time I tried it they upcharged about a buck. Was good while it lasted.

I think a detailed write up is needed.

I have not been to a jack in the box in forever. Beats mcds, but burger king seems to be the best fast food burger joint around here. Better burgers can be had but it's not considered fast food restaurants.

From all the traveling I have done in the last 7 years I came to the conclusion that Burger King is probably the most common fast food you'll find in other countries. The only country I didn't see one in was Iceland, but there was a lot I didn't get to explore there.

Whenever a Padre hits a home run you can visit any participating Jack in the Box restaurant the next day and get a free Jumbo Jack with the purchase of a large drink.

I'm a big MLB fan but I've yet to cash in on this one . . . and it's not because of the Padres lack of production at the plate.

Hahaha, my dad used to take me to Padres games at what was once Jack Murphy Stadium. They would win every time. Until they didn't. Then I didn't want to go anymore.

That’s what I used to get. Haven’t gone in many years though. Not sure if it’s old age or not but it just seems like fast food here is so expensive that I might as well go and get something freshly cooked.

Yep, know what you mean, used to live in California. Miss them so much. drove from Ocala Florida to Rock hill North Carolina. Filled my gullet and drove back, had no other reason to be there. Like 17 hours round trip, some would say I'm nuts, but me thinks not. They are that damn good. Sad thing is back in 1983 there used to be a Jack In The Box in Ocala, not anymore. Moved here in 1984, they aint never coming back. Love trips up north and back to cali....it just aint the same without my tacos...

I must be in a black hole for some of the favorites listed here. The last time I went to Jack In The Box for a burger was probably 15 years ago. They announced some super duper wonderful burger. I tried it. It had no taste. The lettuce and pickle added a bit of flavor, but that was about it. A year or so ago I put the truck in for an oil change at the dealer and went to the Jack In The Box down the block while we waited. I tried the tacos. What wasn't crusty and rock hard was soggy. The alleged meat was basically mush. The hot sauce didn't add much. The much praised In-And-Out was just as disappointing. A small, thin patty with some thousand island dressing. The fries were OK. Chick-Fil-A? I ordered their "famous" chicken sandwich. What I received was a sandwich that had steamed itself into a sodden mass before I could get to the table. It went into the bin after a couple of bites. Again, the fries were OK. Either I manage to hit them all on their worst day, my standards are way too high, or I'm in a area staffed solely by bad managers.

@Randy Morton spot on for the jack in the box tacos, they're not like any taco you'll find elsewhere. They're like somebody saw a taco while drunk and tried to make it at home. The slice of American cheese and the mystery soy based sloppy joe style meat are most unusual. However once you get past your expectations they are delicious, oily and sloppy but delicious.

Jacks burgers took a dive around 2012 when they added some salty seasoning. It was around the same time that Domino's decided to add flavor to their crust.

Chick fil a you must get a crispy sandwich. I get the spicy deluxe every time and have never been disappointed with it unless they messed up my order. The grilled sandwiches aren't nearly as good.

In-N-Out is more about nostalgia than anything. It's a light meal to me and fries are rarely in point. I usually get a triple burger with peppers added, skip the fries and get a shake. Californian people are proud of that place but it isn't as great as they claim. On the bright side it is still family owned and they pay very well, and their prices haven't jumped nearly as high as competitors.

You can have our Tim Hortons frozen donuts, cookies and chili in a bag reheated. I'd give you 2 of anything on their menu for a Route 44 sized frozen Limeade right now.

Whenever we go too the USA (unfortunately, it's been a while recently), I refuse to eat anywhere we have here. So we usually hit up all the greasy joints and overeat/drink. A stop at Jimmy Johns is usually in there too.

We don't even have McD biscuits up here :eek2:
