    Hey All,
I'm coming from a Taco (2018,2003) and just need a bigger truck. I have an white double cab SX getting built next week and then heading my way.

With the SX package, it seems to remove some things I would have wanted (gas tank), and adds some too. I am mainly going to be using this as a truck, fill up the bed, tow some machines around etc...

But for you guys with the SX, what are some popular mods, what are issues I might run into etc...

Great choice! I love my SX.
Top three mods? Get the Toyota rear underseat storage, bed step, and TRD rear sway bar.
Best features over the crew max? Longer bed and better payload. Bonus...the SX exterior already comes dechromed.

Thanks! I was wondering about adding that seat storage, as well as the sway bar, I wasn't sure if the bar came on it or not, but from what I read it was a big help.

It rode like a boat without the rear sway bar. Add the front bar too, for even sportier handling, but is not in my “Top 3” mods.

Depending on what you're going to be towing, you may regret not having the larger gas tank.

If you can, consider a TRD Sport instead. It's also colour matched like the SX, comes with the rear sway bar and can be had with the bigger gas tank.

For the towing concerns, they are legit and I was caught off guard when I started looking. I mainly tow a mower, 4 wheelers or utv. I have a 5k or so tractor that will get towed once or twice a year as well. So it shouldn't be an issue, and my truck has 9900 lbs tow and close to 1700 payload its like 1640 or something, I'm under 200lbs my wife is like 110. I do fill up the bed with dirt, mulch and other crap somewhat regularly though.

Down the road I might be getting a big travel trailer, and thats where it would be an issue. I am at this point, leasing the truck under my business' name and was thinking by the time I needed a big truck, the lease would be up and I could switch. My accountant told me I get more depreciation off a 6k plus truck though, and that's not the tacoma.

Maybe I should be getting a 2/350 instead though and put a dump on it. Then lease a little Corolla or something from my toyota guys.

Just picked this up. Traded in my 2015 SR5 crewmax for a new 2021 SR5 crewmax SX package. Lift going on next week.

Love the look of my SX SR5. Adding the TRD Sway bar was key.

yup saves a lot on the chrome removal mods! I'm gonna stick with my order, and will get the sway bar. I have some nice tuxmat floor mats already waiting. Supposed to get built a week from today:fingerscrossed:
