Was told the 21’s have the collision sensor in the toyota emblem and cause of that, grill swapping is more expensive on the 21 models. Anyone replaced their chrome grill on a 21 with any issues?

    You can relocate the sensor.

I have a 2020, and only issue I had was that I didn't disconnect the battery first. Tried to short cut it and just disconnect the sensor. Ended up with a sensor error and had to use Techstream to clear it. Otherwise swap away. Only reason you would need the sensor relocate bracket is if you go to a older version pro grill. If you go to a 2018+ Grill Sport/Pro it will swap right in.

So disconnect the battery, then remove grill and swap, then hook it all back up. You shouldn't get any errors, or if you do you can clear it with TS or bring it to the dealer if you are feeling brave.

What TS version do you have that you use on your 2020? I have the cable and an older version that I used on my 2013.

Gotcha. How difficult is removing the toyota emblem and installing it in new grill?

I figured out if you can get 14 installed, you can install 15 on top and it will work.

I think most grills come with the emblem. The sensor mounts behind the emblem and is separate.

They do not come with the emblem. The emblem is $300.

If you’re just getting a color-matched sport or platinum grille, then you should be able to reuse your current emblem (garnish is the actual part name), but moving to the Pro grille would require the Pro garnish. They are completely different.

A caveat though is that there was a switch in the mounting tabs somewhere in 2019-2020, where the outside of the garnish looks the same but the tabs on the back are completely different. Shouldn’t be an issue for you with your 2021, but make sure you check that if you’re buying secondhand.
