    Hey guys!

Long story short, I've been a Toyota man ever since I could remember, but I really wanted to try out a different brand for my first truck--particularly Ford. Luckily, my brother talked me out of getting a F-150. I still have a 1990 Camry that still runs daily (oil leaks a bit but, dang, it's a trooper), so hopefully this truck will last me 30 years as well (if I were to live that long).

2021' Limited Double Cab. It's bone stock, but I already ordered some steel skid plates from Valhalla since I'm pretty anxious about cat theft. Next on the list is a locking gas door, spray-on bed liner, and running boards.

Plant a few hundred plants and feed them well. By the looks of society, looks to be promising.

You made a solid decision. The only thing you lost out on is having a friendship with your Ford mechanic, and free coffee.

He's had some bad experiences with a used Ford in the past, and also shared some horror stories from his coworkers--scared me $h1tless. His workplace also has a variety of Ford trucks--but it seems to be hit and miss from what he tells me. Either way, since he'll be borrowing my truck on occasion, I guess he also has a stake in the Tundra. Maybe I can even wrangle out some future parts purchases out of him.:spending:

Even though you got the slowest color, that is a nice looking dbl cab.

Please post up the kind of locking gas cap or door you decide to get. Trying to find something that is quality. This is another corner I wish Toyota would not have cut.

TY, I originally wanted a Crewmax but that was before I actually got to sit in one. Maybe it's because I'm short, but the CM felt huuuuuuuuuuge.:eek2:

Will do on the locking gas door. If I can't buy one, worse case scenario, I'll just mod the door myself--somehow. Still looking into what my options are. There's also the worry that some punk will see an aftermarket fuel door and get some funny ideas.

Yeah it was so nice when Toyotas had the factory locking doors, as it used the ignition key. Never had an issue with one.
The locking caps have their issues too. Separate key,, seal issues, etc... I've been searching on and off for a while and have not pulled the trigger but I think it's an area worth adressing given how prices are again climbing. Just need to find a high quality one.
Another tip, try not to spend too much time here or you will go broke:D:p

Honestly, any color looks good on a Tundra, imo. But sir, you are a man of culture!

Actually, I'm located in King. Local dealers didn't have squat, so I made the trip down.

Welcome from MN! I too just picked up a new Tundra the other week. Already spent north of $1500 in accessories. I agree with the conversation here that they should not have removed the locking gas door as I will be looking to put one of those on as soon as a good one is found - still looking.

Great idea about the steel skid plates since I'd like to protect the cat converter as much as possible as well!!

    Anyway, welcome to the board!
