While I don't doubt Toyota has that statistic covered, as someone whose owned a "Dodge of Asian vehicles" (as one asshat on here keeps putting it) for over 13 years that has been just as reliable as any Toyota or Honda CAR we've owned long-term, I can definitely vouch that certain people's strongly negative brand prejudice is unfounded.
As much as I hate Ford (significantly for political reasons) I've worked with them for over 14 years now.
True, they "suck" compared to my "Asian Dodge", but in truth, they never die on the side of the road. Just stupid things like doors that won't stay closed, constant CEL, flickering dash lights, busted HVAC actuators, etc. Never had one fail to shift, go in and out of 4WD, or go into "limp mode".

Buuutttt......I think those that bash on RAM may be on to something!!!

Does anyone have an educated guess on the bolt pattern? Getting new hubs for my trailer and want them to match the Tundra if possible.

Spy shots seem to show 6 lugs. Don't think we know any more than that right now.

Sorry if that's not what you're asking.

Yeah it is! I saw the 6 lug spy shot but I wondered if it's likely that they match the Tacoma and go 6 X 5.5.

I thought I heard Tundra has bigger lugs. 5 big lugs can be stronger than 6 smaller ones.

You gotta admit that referring to Nissan as the “Dodge of Asian vehicles” is funny! I laughed, but maybe it’s just my dumbass sense of humor.

I personally don’t have a lot of experience owning a Nissan but have known several people who did. Not the greatest fit and finish but they seem to last a long time.

The only problem for Nissan was Ghosn's influence and the pivot towards crappy CVT FWD-based vehicles.

The core Japanese company, that heavily influences the RWD vehicles, makes a very good RWD/4WD vehicle. It's all of the Cubes, Versas, Rogues, Sentras, Altimas, etc bringing down Nissan. The RWD vehicles remained very good.

I'm jumping ship to Toyota because the Gen2 Titan, although reliable, is way too much of a F-150 ripoff, and an ugly ripoff also. My Titan has never given me trouble, nor has my Q60, nor did my 1997 Maxima that I put 300K miles on. When I sold that car the only issue it had was one power door lock getting weak.

So...the "Dodge of Asians" doesn't resonate with me. That would be Mitsubishi, they actually partnered with Dodge/Chrysler and generally make a terrible Japanese car, even worse than Subaru.

I think Nissan was a lot better before they partnered with (were bought by?) Renault.

Overall Nissan does ok, but they still are well behind Toyota, Honda and even Mazda on overall quality. Mitsubishi is so irrelevant now that there isn’t even a surviving domestic you can compare it to.

Yup. Ghosn is gone, Nissan has begun purging the CVTs, and overall quality and content is way up. They are hurting right now.
However, I doubt there will be a gen3 Titan, so I'm jumping over to the new Tundra.

Since you asked, the one and only thing that will force me to buy it is if I can get one made in Japan. Every time a new generation of Toyotas shows up, I see some of the first ones to arrive to the dealers are made in Japan. I’ve seen it with Highlanders and Camrys.

I didn't care for Gen2 which is why I still have my Gen1. Hopefully Gen3 will be more to my liking because I'd rather not wait another 15 years for Gen4.

I've been saying that for weeks. However, I'm beginning to doubt my prediction. On Toyota's website they have the coming soon page with 8 places for photos. When it first came out I thought they would have one or two releases a week and they would finish right before the Chicago Auto Show. That worked for the first 3 images however it's now been over a week since the last update.

Unfortunately, I don't think that's going to happen?

Looking like one release every two weeks, with the exception being the 2nd picture. I think with that one Toyota just owned the leak and released it earlier than planned. Someone did the math earlier and I think it lined up to September if I remember right, which is when fleet orders begin and rumored when we get the full details.

Dealer yesterday said there would be an option for v8 in the 2022. I challenged him on it but he said Toyota thinks enough people will be upset over it that it could stick around. He seemed new and nervous so he’s probably just BS’ing trying to keep our interest. I don’t really believe him, just thought it was interesting he brought it up without me asking about it first.

On another note, they had zero 4 Runner’s on site - used or new.

My father-in-law is on his 3rd transmission in his Murano. All out of pocket. He's stubbornly brand loyal, so its his own damn fault for not ditching the thing. Between fuel pumps and burning oil, that thing has been a nightmare.
