Morimoto Tails... When will Tundras have availability?

I think the trucks color and in my case, and indoor picture makes them seem darker on some trucks. With the red, I immediately tie it in with his bumper. Ours, I seem subjective to a paint match. Either way, it seems the tinted are in a future!

 

Which ones are those?

 

This is one of the reasons that I disliked the “cloak & dagger” approach they took. If they would’ve just released some rendering of the Tundra design they could’ve got customer feedback and realized the design is not favored. I agree and think that the design for the domestic lights with the rectangular approach is a far superior design. The one for the Tundra kinda remind me of the Winjet lights or whatever they are called. Design feedback should not be overlooked and hopefully it’s not too late to modify.

They look good until you actually hit the brakes and your are transported back to the early 2000s dot matrix LED pattern.

I’m only out $288 until the next best things come along and I get the next round of mod-fever.

I actually don't mind the individual diodes lighting up. It's better than tubes with hot spots.

 

If the ETA is September, they're already being made.

 

I wouldn’t call the 3D tunnel look of the Morimoto domestic tails a dot matrix pattern.

 

I was referring to the dot matrix brake lights and reverse lights in the Tundra Morimotos.

 

Gonna be a BIG PASS for me on these. They look ridiculous. Those spiders that badknees posted are WAY better looking!

 

I'm dumb, I mixed them up with the Spyders that have the dot matrix in the middle.




It's been a long week.

 

I ran Spyder tails for 3 years. It’s a good light with good quality and Reliable. I only switched to HiRevs because I wanted to try something different. I too will pass on the Morimoto’s. Especially for the estimated $600 price

 

Any new updates on availability or product changes you can share? Is there a video of sequential turn function? Would love to see how these look lit up at night

 

Contacted Morimoto....no video yet. Received the typical "stay tuned".

The company coulda sold a decent amount if they woulda released them already, instead will probably come out after the 2022 model year comes out and sell about none ha!

 

Lol, they “stay tuned” me right into the Hirevs. I am completely happy with them.

It’s gonna suck when the Morimotos come out with a $700 price tag when they release their video.

 

Yeah I'm leaning towards the upcoming turn as tail system in the stock housings myself.

 

That’s exactly what happened to me. Very happy with the HRevs. Morimoto’s business model sucks and lost me a while back.

 

Hirevs came today and put them on already, Lovem and they were a normal working mans price..

 

I don’t know about the price tag on their tail lights put a price tag on their headlights is ridiculous if you ask me. I just bought OEM LED headlights for $336 each and didn’t pay tax. I look at theirs and holy $hit 1350. My 17 Tacoma went through 2 ballast in the 3 years I leased it. Hope their headlights hold up a lifetime for that price.

 

Did your Tacoma have aftermarket headlights?

 

OEM headlights with the Morimoto HID kit. My dad has custom D2S projectors on his tundra that I did and his control box also took a crap right after the warranty expired. I have used them for all my lighting projects but it seems their new stuff isn’t as good. Either way $1350 for headlights is crazy for China stuff.

 

OEM leds are led reflectors, as where Morimoto XB's are projectors. That alone will be one reason for a price difference.

 

China made projectors. Their retrofit projectors don’t match up to OEM projectors. To me $1350 for China projectors aren’t worth it. Just like their $200 headlight LED bulbs. And from reading in here the SS3 fog are better than theirs. Like I said I use to use their products but their quality vs price isn’t worth it to me now. Just like when they do bring out their tail lights they will be over priced for what you get.

 

I think these are the best looking aftermarket tails on the Tundra. They're about the only ones that don't scream "juvenile attention seeker", which is exactly what the morimotos look like to me. Still, I think I'll hold out for a turn as tail harness and keep the stock housings.
