What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Got the all black TRD shift knob. I like it a lot more than the AJT version 3 knob. I’ll be putting the AJT one up on the market place if anyone around Fort Collins, CO wants it.

Got the Rago bed stiffeners installed.

 

Thanks. Appreciate it. One side has rivets and the other side does not. They are made by AMI. They are on the pricey side. I also switched out to their mounts.

Made some brackets for my shovel and axe from a 1” x 3’ length of 3/16” steel. Bolted a piece of plywood into the bed to mount my Dometic fridge slide.


I’m not quite settled on a final configuration. I’m mostly just thrilled that the Dometic fits under my roll cover.

 

Did you notice a difference in creaking?

How did you run power to the fridge?

 

What did you do with the gap above the rear bumper?

 

I have not driven it yet, but I will let you know. I will say you can grab the bed at the the tail light and it doesn't flex anymore, no creaking that way, its stiff.

 

Subtle, but the only cav blue color match I’m gonna do in the interior. The rest is going black

More progress going through the backlog of mods. Swapped the rear cig adapter for dual USB charging ports. The kids both have iPads that keep our sanity in tact on long trips. Those suckers need to be charged (the iPads).

I know that Amazon something similar for half the price, but I went with the Toyota version. Of the two versions available, I didn't go with the one for our trucks (00016-00325) I went with the car version instead (00016-00225) because I like the little door you can close when not in use. I can just see my son poking something metal in one of the ports and blowing a fuse. The kits seem to be identical other than that little cover over the ports.

Very simple mod, took me about 20 minutes and I took my time. It's compatible with the wireless charging tray if you also have that.

Edit: looks crooked in the pics, I'll have to fix that.

i was looking at some Other USA made shackles that were $100 each so not far off. I’m impatient so went the $5 route for now and spray painted. I like the clean look of those mounts too

 

I haven’t done this yet, but decided I was going to when one kids iPad died in 6 hours after day 3 in the car. The ensuing disaster was narrowly avoided since we were 30 minutes from home.

That boot might solve my plan!

The 3rd gen Tacoma's have a boot and I have a few buttons wired in the TRD PRO knob (ECT and Garage door) and an LED in the knob. was needing to hide all of the wires. Still would need some more parts and find the right knob.

 

Interesting.

Could cut the wires, run extension wire, and solder some other interior LED's for accent lighting. Could use any color LED. I did red in my cup holder area

Edit: I guess that light function wouldn't work for accent since it only comes on when the door opens. Could used pig tail harness on a stock and or aftermarket illuminations switches that run 's off the panel circuit so it comes on when parking lights are engaged on the headlight stalk

Got the last part for my 6112/5160 setup, Westcott collars and there’s a part I’m not too sure what it is. Maybe a shim?
