Morimoto Tails... When will Tundras have availability?

Nope, these are hirevs. Note the reverse light color in center of lights.

 

Spyders. Quality looked fine during installation, but only time will tell. Looked somewhat like "stock", I liked the black cherry color with 040 white, and I don't have a ton of $ invested.

 

I vote for $300 for the pair.

 

Awesome to see them, but unfortunate they went the "ricer" route IMO. Just because Toyota is a Japanese company does not mean they need the ricer mod styling on their trucks....

Look at post number 1. That's what Morimoto gave domestics. 10 times better than the Tundra option. The Spyders that @Badknees posted up look so much better. Again, my opinion.

 

Yeah I think I agree. These pics may have just sold me on the HiRevs. Hoping I find a good deal when someone posts them on here to sell and swap for these XBs

What brand are those? Wish they'd do a red lens instead of clear. That's part of what I like on the OEM.

Are those tundra? I was under the impression they didn't have any for tundras yet. (I am sans computer and have done zero research.)

The tails for the 14 and up are not released yet. If you aren't liking the Morimotos, one option for an OEM look is to wait for the turn as tail option that is in the works. The bulb system is done, but the harness is still in the works.

 

Ah, yeah. The domestics got "normal" designs and we got the "look at these LEDs" design. Tons of people will love them, and Morimoto makes quality stuff. Just not my style.

 

He posted pictures of the Chevy Silverado tails that Morimoto offers. I think the Tundra ones are the sad looking ones that HR and Hotshot shared....

Interested. The more I stare at the Morimotos, the less and less I like them. Which vendor is working on the "turn as tail" option?

They do not...I have reached out to them already.

 

Definitely a different style with these upcoming ones. I will say though being the only person to have seen them in person and having worked with these Spyder tails + the HiRevs, the quality of those two will be nothing compared to Morimoto. If you held Morimoto in one hand and a Spyder/HiRev in the other, you'd know exactly what I am talking about. Morimoto doesn't offer a 5YR. warranty for no reason! Wiring-wise, connections, the construction, display/presentation, they really aren't comparable. It's hard to talk about them without sounding like I'm glorifying them, but it really is the truth! I think you guys just need to see more photos/angles of them with better lighting and a different colored Tundra to get a new perspective of them, they look REALLY good in-person.

 

Thanks for your thoughts. Do you have an opinion about Recons? They look nice to me but seem a bit pricey...but maybe the quality is better than most?

 

I have no doubt these lights will be top notch, but seeing them in person won't change the design/where they light up. My plan is to wait for the turn as tail harness option, and use LED bulbs in the stock housing.

The stock tundra tail lamp has an upper and lower bulb. The lower bulb functions as a tail light and brake light. The up bulb is only used as a turn signal; otherwise it is unlit. A "turn as tail" harness would make the upper bulb light up as a tail light in add-on to being the turn signal. This would make the whole tail lamp assembly light up instead of looking like the upper bulb is burnt out.

Well at least they broke from the dot matrix LED setups like everyone else is still using that looks like cheap crap.
But I have to agree there is way too much going on with these. Maybe a video in action will change my mind but they should have just taken the design they have for the domestics and adapted it to the Tundra.

 

It really blends with MGM and creates a modern look....until the 22 comes out that is.

 

They blend well with all dark colors. Mine look black and yours look Grey. I agree it looks much more modern, people always think my truck is much newer then it actually is
