Yeah have always had an issue with crash tests. Just saying it is genuinely a good indicator of genuine safety of the vehicle but is not anywhere close to real life. It's a controlled lab test and I can guarantee you that many of the manufacturers strive to meet those "controlled lab" standards. The lab is not real life and my belief is that any body on frame vehicle is superior to others in real life, despite the lab tests. If I was looking at a vehicle that was not body on frame than I would take the lab tests into more consideration when making a choice on what to buy safety wise. But not as a standard. It would be more of a consideration. Again, it's a controlled lab test, not real life.

Ford tried to learn from Toyota about building a hybrid by persuing a relationship an than ending that relationship. Prediction....Toyota is gonna dominate the hybrid truck market when the 2022 is released.

I don't know what it is, but I don't like the button layout below the screen. Its a little too busy maybe? A few too many switches for my liking I guess. However, I would rather have actual buttons than having to fumble my way through 5 screens to change something. I heard the Ram's big screen is sort of like that and not many like that part about it.

That really depends on what you want to change . Turning on/off the rain sensing wipers , the power delay after you turn the ignition off , etc.etc .

I zoomed in to see what all those buttons were about, and I think (my opinion only) they make sense. Directly under the screen you have your HVAC controls and heated/cooled seat controls. Below those you have a horizontal array of buttons that control the volume of audio and what track or station you’re listening to, and what screen function is displayed for example map, home, etc.

I appreciate hard buttons that will quickly bring up navigation or the Home Screen so I don’t have to dig through a menu to find them.

Yeah, the buttons do look to make sense which is good. I guess we have seen more busy layouts before as well so it could be worse.

I would think they layout will change for the Tundra. Maybe bigger buttons or more spaced out buttons for people who have bigger hands or get in/out of their truck with work gloves on. I guess maybe make it a bit more masculine of a set up than the LC dash. Is that a thing with automotive dashes? ha

Hmm just realized there is no rotary dial for volume. I see the two switches for volume in the horizontal row. I guess not a deal breaker, but I still find myself using the dial in the dash over the buttons on the steering wheel in my 2018 Tacoma.

Well yeah, this; 9/10ths of the time I'll use the buttons. About the only time the dial gets used is if my wife's taking a call while we're driving and she'll reach to turn it down.

I do not own one but I have no problems with an F-150. The only truck I think I would not buy is a Dodge but that is just me. If someone else purchased one good on them!

The speculation makes it very hard to find out real information but I have to blame Toyota. Give us more information. I know you want hype to be out there but I am highly interested in the new Gen Tundra.

I have no issues with Ford or GM trucks, for the most part I think both companies make a good product. Albeit one that may take more shop visits to get dialed in than a Toyota.

Dodge/Ram/Fiat/Stellantis or whatever they’re called this week not so much. They don’t have the money, or resources to do proper R&D or implement QA/QC that is up to industry standards. What’s worse is their financial instability. Not only do you risk buying a turd of a truck from them, but you risk them going tits up as a company at any time leaving you with a vehicle with no warranty or support.

Some fanboys though just can’t imagine a world where there are other trucks, or past tundra owners share their experiences.

I think that guy you quoted is upset because he overpaid on 17-18 year old engineering, and can’t afford a 22 now lol

Since Tundras have only been around for 21 years and apparently they last longer than that it’s amazing anyone has owned more than one .

Well, it's more that people step up to defend them because some people here seem overly interested in attacking them. Most can see it's either insecurity or jealously but either way it's rarely factual and obviously emotional and definitely a distraction. Are Toyotas more reliable? Most likely. Are they perfect? Not a chance.

I bought a 2019 ram 1500 and it's been pretty problem free. Except for the new engine at 45,000, starter going out at about 50,000, and then my front wheel ripped off getting on the interstate. They blamed that one on the 2 inch mopar lift that they installed. Oh yea and now my transmission is slipping at 65,000. I can't wait to get into a different truck. My wife told me when i said i wanted it "What kind of dumb ass drives a dodge." I guess i'm that dumb ass.
