Looking back through my build thread for the truck, and then comparing that to my corolla thread really makes me wished I'd learned how to change the aspect ratio(?) on photos so they'd all be the same so much earlier.

Those Adidas would make sweet driving shoes. I like thin sole shoes like that.

Some sweet new driving shoes were just released.
    They're called VANS Old Skool.
If we've got them in the midwest, you left coasters should have them soon.

If it's a 2010-2019 MKZ, and it may be trim level dependent, it's the same as the SHO. And yeah, that b20z can do some cool shit. Some of those even came with a stick.

I definitely remember that now. He caused a big stink on the forum when he did that. People were upset he got rid of the glorious intake.

Those alpinestars I got are thin like that. It's weird getting home from work, taking off my work boots then throwing those on.

I am really into thin soles and wide tow boxes. I have a pretty big chip on my shoulder against the shoe industry as a whole. We are practically still foot binding with some of the stuff we put on our feet. Has anyone read "Born to Run"? It's a good/fun read if you haven't.

If Vans Old Skools are binding your feet, you've got some big MFing feet.
Keen and Vans are the best-fitting shoes I've ever owned.

No not vans so much. If I put a pair on now they would constrict my toes. I ordered a pair in wide and those work for me. I would guess that nearly everyone here has an artificially thin toe box including me. Girls definitely get the worst of it. I've been working on it for years. I hope it pays off in the form of balance and no broken hips later In life.

Foot bound American feet have basically 2 points of contact. Natural feet make a triangle.

I've spent a lot of time in Adidas slides. They allow my feet to breathe and def don't constrict anything. Unfortunately, the police state I work for (dealership) won't allow men to wear open-toed shoes. I'm reasonably sure that's some form of discrimination, but I'm allowed to wear Vans and shorts, so I'm not going to rock the boat too much.
My biggest gripe is that the nubs in the sole are now more brittle than they used to be. Takes me a lot less time to start knocking those bad boys out of there.

EDIT: I just took off a shoe and looked at the general shape of my foot. It's somewhere between the two. Still pretty wide at the ball, but my toes are aligned into a bit more slope than those boys on the right.

I used to have a Job that required boots. I feel for all the guys that have to wear big clunky boots all the time. All those little balance muscle start fading in those.

Best thing to ever happen to my feet was growing up close to the beach. Lots and lots of time (and miles) spent barefoot in the sand. Makes your feet tough and strong and teaches you to keep your toes up when you walk. (less prone to tripping)

Does anyone know how tall of jack stands you need to swap the leaf springs? I recall someone saying you needed the tallest Harbor Freight(sketchy) jack stands they sell. @Festerw you come to mind on this when you spoke about your add-a-leaf. I recall the truck has to be supported from the frame directly behind the rear wheels?

I like where this is going. I used blocks to assist mine. You need really long stands if you don't want blocks.

I supported mine at the end of cab before the frame swoops upward in the rear. Gave me extra lift.

Maybe I missed natural selection, but I felt it was safe considering the bed was removed, and 80% of the rear weight was gone.

I did the same thing when I was young. There's an old picture floating around of me at about 8 years old, whacked out on Adderall, stained tidy whities, wielding a machete, and nothing else on in the gravel driveway no less. Grade 8.

My father has a 20+ ton swing arm pneumatic jack that rolls around and is used for 18 wheel trucks. He told me his work let him have it when they closed down in the 70s. I call it the beast. I’ll have to take a pic next time I visit them.

Very good point. Going barefoot to strengthen those balance muscles is pretty important. I think most guys fall in between. Girls are really taught to bind their feet up. Hammer toe city.

I put it in 4wd. Chocked the front wheels, then jacked it up from the pumpkin, and stacked some 2x12s up to put the jack stands on. I don't recall if I supported it on the rear frame or whether I used the hitch because it was lower.
