What bwh said. I actually had some installed post-build (into my house) to ensure proper airflow.

Installed a few blink cameras I ran across last minute on prime day. Install wasn't too bad. 3 cameras around the house at points of entry. Quality seems good and had great reviews. Time will tell how much I like them.

New house has bamboo flooring. Seems the installer didn't know what he was doing. Seller of the house has been super cool with this because the issues didn't appear until humidity shot up the week of closing and it totally missed home inspection.

    We went from this.
    VJiMQf99J92UbexvASmIHl2_6YGyQqZq2QJ8xjg9_67c0c1a5f5593dca2a79644ac4f4b46fe94c75d9.jpg

    To this.

Where we found he glued the planks to the transitions.

    Jix8JvX57ozQnGR-q_udxamEnQ_L9uSopww_KC4A_b4e31fec4a0118a6f5e4d9095f6bdd3e10f64057.jpg

I had the guy doing the repair (I can't get down there because arthritis in my knee) cut transitions between the rooms. Original installer had it all flowing from one room to another. When he cut this section the floor shifted 1/8 inch from the releif of stress the floor was under. CHeck the seam lines of those planks. They were single planks before the cut.
    lx01MnxhMxHuexQ5evZyVjyE-ccqYJNw04jUkPr5_06349812804ad940e9a9de874f96b43c44a914dc.jpg

And now we have this. The installer didn't clean up the floor before installing the bamboo. Nails from the carpet tacks were still in place. He didn't undercut the door jambs, he cut out the planks where they were snug fit and no room for movement.

    0xW8Qbcpjtk2KCOxuMjpNvxz3kLMMbswt6K9ClvY_4386aad4c9cfcb50384cc07f8b1a576436e36663.jpg

There's some subfloor issues but it's a 120 year old house. Those will be addressed. Now we have to get some transition around the fireplace harps.

Continuing from 7112. Roof wood is done and plumbing has started on the interior of the house. Sheathing inspection then the exterior wrap and roof to be completed. It’s been very dry here so all the water on the inside has vaporized. Instead of a third car garage, I have the RV option.

Nice! Did you get the same brand as KPARROW? I'm about to do the exact same thing, but as usual analysis paralysis is kicking in and the endless process of evaluating the reviews results in me not buying anything.

Yep, same lights. Picked them up for a slight discount on prime day. I put 16 total in our backyard.

Adding sheds. Need to level it better and build the second shed. Thoughts on best way to level? Sand?

I'd probably use pea gravel. Sand may wash away too easy.

Check the build link in my signature.
I'd third that motion. "Form" it in with some ground-contact wood and level those up, then fill with pea gravel.

Base rock, ¾ rocks…since it not anything big, you could go 2-3 inches. Or use 2x4 to form a concrete pad level it and pour

We finally got our new driveway and front porch/sidewalk installed last week

Now I just need to keep it sealed on a yearly basis. Anyone have suggestion on good sealer?

It’s not perfect as I kept getting particles from under the window frame around the edges but got some frosted window film installed on the front door and front window for some privacy. Will be adding a doorbell cam soon so no need to look through. Let’s hope the edges stick after they dry out. Had to do it fairly quick between feedings of kiddo while she’s asleep.

I will getting the sealer from a local concrete company that one of my friends work for.
Talked to him about it yesterday. At $172.00 for 5 gals, a little pricey, but its better than
    replacing all this again...

Had new gutters installed last week. Discovered the Hardie Board is rotted in this pic where the end of the gutter touches it. Previous owners never installed any diverter/flashing to keep rain off the siding.

How difficult would it be to replace that one rotted piece? Zero experience with anything like this.

Hardie backer don’t rot, they water proved and fire proved.

Cant tell what that taller black piece is but you need a kickout flashing if that wood is rotted out

I know. I asked the gutter guy to install said flashing and he did not install what I asked. But what I'm asking is how hard it would be to replace that single piece of Hardie siding. The white piece of trim leading to the column isn't rotted yet but the brown piece of siding is.

Well, I'm not sure what to say but this one is rotted. Wish I had snapped a pic before he re-installed the new gutters over it.

Have to take out gutter, maybe a piece of flashing, ply the second piece out a little and take out the nails, cut a new piece put it in and face nail.

All siding started at the bottom, need a lot of skills to change bottom piece maybe repair is a better option

Cut out the rot and use epoxy or bondo to repair
