Just did my first chiropractor visit. Was originally set for 7:10 tomorrow, but the Doc is awesome and saw me 30 minutes after I called.

L2-L5 super jammed up, and my hip is out of place. Felt them move, which is odd for my lumbar, and he was happy with that. So I have to take it easy today, ice it, and see him again tomorrow morning.

Should have called yesterday, because I go on nights tomorrow night.:goingcrazy:

I apologize in advance for bitching.

This day. Ugh. Beginning of my night shifts, so I normally would have stayed up all night and slept during the day. Well, that just wasn't feasible this time, so I tried to go to bed at 11 PM so I could have some sleep before being up at 6:15 to get ready for my chiropractic appointment. Couldn't sleep and back was uncooperative until 2 AM.

Woke up at 6:15, got ready, and went to the appointment. Good news: I only have 2 vertebrae that are jammed up and causing me issues now, so progress. Yay.

Bad news: I still have to finish helping my friend move. She's got some medical issues right now that are going to be addressed with surgery in a couple weeks. Even if she were totally hale and hearty she's 4'10" and not fat, so yeah. She can't move heavy things herself on her best day. So, hit up the warehouse at work after the doc visit so I can pick up a hand truck for the washer and dryer. Head home hook up the trailer (can't be lifting the washer and dryer with my back the way it is).

Plan was snag the appliances mid morning, and I messaged her at 8 AM that I was ready. Turns out, she couldn't sleep either and was up until 2 AM unpacking the stuff we had moved a couple days ago. She replied at 9:30 that she had just woke up. Bummer, I could have napped in that time, but I was afraid I'd miss her message to roll out. Oh well, I let her know I'll hit a Maverik on my way over and bring her a coffee and breakfast for the kids. When I stop by to deliver it her kids are up and playing in the living room, but tell me "Mom is still sleeping." I head back home without waking her. She needs to rest when she can.

10:30 she messages me apologizing for falling asleep again; I tell her "no worries, eat your breakfast and let me know when you are ready. I don't work until a bit before 6 PM so we have time."

11:50 she's out the door and we are going to get started. Less than ideal timing, but I figure moving a washer and a dryer will only take a short time anyway. WRONG. We were going to her Grandpa's place (he recently passed away) and she's been given permission to go through the house and select things she wants to remember him by, along with the washer and dryer.

The rest of the long story is that there was a table, chairs, laundry appliances, pictures, sentimental items, 2 clocks, etc. all moved today. Had to get a new dryer vent hose and rewire it for a 4 plug instead of a 3 for the new place, and I finally got home and dropped the trailer at about 4 PM. Just in time to eat something, shower, and get ready to be at work at 5:30.

TLDR: I am tired, broken, sore, and I forgot my damn ice packs for my back. :angrygirl:

Oof. I despise moving things. Add in a sore back and that sounds like a terrible time. Nice of you to help out though!

Part of why I got the crewmax and the little Jeep Renegade before it. Easier to say "Sorry, my vehicle's not good for moving."

Full disclosure: If it were anyone else I would have stopped helping when my back went out the first day. It was a milder repeat of my original injury that had me off work and seeing the doctor multiple times a week for over 6 months. I knew it was not going to be good to push it, but she's had a lot of people bail on her or let her down. Especially lately, so she needs at least one person who isn't going to flake out.

Well, considering you were helping your other friend a little bit ago and now you are pushing through pain to help this friend I'd say you're a pretty nice guy :)

I am loyal, to a fault at times, but I'm still a dick. People think I'm a nice guy all the time, so I tell them "Don't put me on a pedestal. I promise, I WILL let you down at some point."

So far, that's the only promise I've ever seen be kept.

    Rough week, eh?

Bad because work stuff sucks, or are you on a streak of bad luck; stubbing your toe, hitting your head, tripping over your own feet, etc.?
