Only the limited and the TRD Pro are restricted to having only the 5 ft bed option.

I agree with this 100%. In fact, I *was* in a position where I needed to buy a vehicle...but I got lucky in that I 'needed' one - and bought one - right as the whole COVID-19 thing hit. There was about a month and a half period last year, from mid-March to mid-May or so, where there were a sh*tload of vehicles on the lots, but everyone was scared to buy one. I wasn't at the time, and it paid off, as I got a huge deal on my truck.

As I put it to my wife, most other trucks kind of say "We can give you nice stuff - AND pulling power - AND mileae - AND, and, and...." while Toyota is sitting there saying "I...thought you wanted a truck. You know, to do truck stuff. Safely." I've pulled the same amount of weight, set up correctly, with my Tundra, and while the F150 pulled it 'easier' I sure felt a hell of a lot safer in the Tundra due to the extra weight.

I'm with you except for the safety. The 2014-2021 Tundras crash test like poop. It's appalling and I hope Toyota finally does something about it.

Really - how can that be if the earlier versions tested well? It's the same vehicle except for cosmetic changes.

Safe enough for me, my 2021 even beeps if someone ahead of me starts to slow down. I think it will even brake for me but of course I haven't tried it

I didn’t look up 07-13. This mentions 14-21. I think it has to do with the footwell and off center head on collisions.

I didn't look at all the results but the slight front overlap crash, or whatever they call it, is a new test as of a few years ago. Not exactly surprising a 14 year old vehicle doesn't do well.

What's really scary is the new GMs were designed and released after that new test came out and they still don't do well on it.

That looks like a crash test from the 80’s- 90’s. Toyota better think about safety of the occupants in this new 2022 model.

Not sure if this was already posted. New teaser shot of the inside of the Toyota Tundra interior. The new larger screen still has IOS Car Play.

Yeah, and I agree; I was thinking more from the 'nanny' POV (e.g., BSM, automatic braking, lane departure, etc.) With that said, I've indeed seen a Tundra or two get in an offset crash at 40MPH or so (I live right outside an Army post, so I see a lot of guys hot-dogging it with their new vehicles) and not at all end up like the crash test.

But yes, I too agree they should fix it.

While they definitely do have more tech than Toyotas....when you compare Lexus to their competition such as MB, BMW, and Audi they are still usually a generation behind on tech.

I agree. Way back in January 2007 I bought a Lexus RX 400H. It came with a "Cassette Tape Player" Those died in the 90's ;). I also Did NOT have a Sound Aux receptacle so I could plug the audio cable in my iPhone into the stereo.

A month after taking delivery I did a business trip and rented a Hyundai. It had a Sound Aux receptacle and USB port for charging.

When I took it in for service there excuse was "Lexus likes for new technology to mature before adding it"

My dad's 2003 Toyota Matrix had a CD player... Lexus is just ridiculous.

Me and my wife went car shopping last weekend. She's turning in her 2019 Acura RDX tech pak. We went to the Lexus dealer first. she could not believe how far behind the Lexus was on interior style and tech. I don't remember what model suv we looked at but it had a CD player. she noticed how far behind they were too. We ended up putting a deposit on the new 2022 MDX coming in August.

Look at the drivers legs. I pray this never happens to me in my Tundra. Another spot where Ford is doing a good job is in their safety crashes. I know its a different class but the F250 looks like it was going to go through the barrier.

Ironically this review just popped up on the GX460. Nice interior, a decade ago. Wow

I wish my truck still had a CD player. Or the ability to listen to an iPod that doesn't have Car Play.

Nothing happens when I plug it in and the manual seems to imply you need to use Car Play. So now I'm using USB thumb drives with music on them.

I know, right? You'll see me in my new 2022 Ford F-150, sitting in the forums complaining about why they can't update my truck every week since I want all of my tech to be up to date. And, yes, I consider an F-150 tech since it's no longer a truck.

Looks like the drivers side grab handle is back. Also wonder if that is the LCD rear view mirror with fulltime rearview camera.
