I have a mavic air 2 with the flymore kit and the smart controller. I’m far from an expert with it, but happy to try to help if you’d like to PM me.

My brother in law has a mavic. It takes really nice video an seems easy to fly. If you want a drone for video I think its a good option. If you want one for fun flying there are probably better choices out there.

In sport mode the mavic air 2 will run in the mid 40’s though it’s no sport drone. It takes excellent pictures and video. DJI has a ton of how to videos on their site and app. I would keep it on tripod mode and out of sport mode to start with unless you’re in a large field.

long answer short.... buy new... directly from DJI. UNLESS you are getting it for next to nothing.

That is a very broad and opinionated question. whats is good for me may not be good for you or someone else. I spent 4 years trying to make my mind to spend the money to buy one of these. mostly because the misinformation on the restrictions to fly these. based on the things i would read and see on youtube, i was under the impression you needed all kinds of permits to be able to fly these and be really limited to where you could fly. i dont have money like that to just spend 1000 for something that is going to sit in a drawer after few uses so 4 yrs trying to make a decision may seem excessive to some but

I am not sure about the air 2s but the air 2 is at 249gr and that means you do not need the license to fly these. anything at or over 250grs you need the license.

flying is super easy. no joke. to me it is easier to fly by looking at the screen and not try to fly by looking at the drone, specially if the aircraft is going in any direction other than directly away from you. reason for this is because, say the drone is flying towards you, if you are looking at it and you want it to go right and you push to the right on the controller, then the drone will go to the left, the drone's right as it comes to you. not sure if the way i am explaining that makes sense.

the bad thing about the air 2 is that it doesn't have 4 way object detection... i think it only detects from the bottom. the worst part about the air 2 is it doesnt have advance features lie "follow mode" and while to me that is the most valuable feature, it was not justifiable for me to spend additional $500+ just to get that one additional feature...sure maybe some more pixels and maybe a little more this and a little more of that but overall just that one feature.

I bought the fly more package WITH insurance and it came out to about $700 (727) and it came with 2 additional batteries (3 total) and extra propeller blades.

the insurance... GET the insurance. if it crashes and it is damaged, they replace it 3 times within 2 yrs i think. youjust pay the deductible i think it was $60 and i had a new drone in 7 days. if you crash and it is not recoverable, yuo get a new drone. pay the deductible and thats it.

i think any other opinions and pros/cons will be based on the type of flying you, or the person providing the opinion, uses it for.

all in all. i love my EVA (from wall-e) and i can always find the perfect excuse to try to fly it for 2 hours just to get 3 minutes of usable footage but it is totally worth it to me. eventually i will be able to fly for 5 minutes and use 4.5 mins of footage.

i have not been able to get close to those speeds at all. most i have gotten is 33MPH in a totally open field with low and calm wind. The farthest i have been able to fly is 3 miles before the drone disconnects from the remote. pretty cool.

Those are the two I’m looking at as well and can’t decided which to go with.

I would do a lot of research before buying the DJI FPV Drone, I was debating getting one but from what I read it was a pretty big compromise between a cinematic drone like a Mavic and an actual freestyle drone. Could get the same image quality with a GoPro and actually be able to freestyle and have durability with a freestyle drone, or be able to get nice stable cinematic footage with a true cinematic drone with a two axis gimbal. Maybe it's what you want, but I'd do some research and make sure it does what you actually want.

I have the DJI mavic 2 with flymore kit I’m not an expert but it’s ok one thing that bothers me is the mandatory updates and I have an Autel Evo which I feel that it’s better than the DJI it sets up and ready to fly much faster than DJI

I got it from my local Best Buy. The fly more combo. Only bummer is the charge bank charges sequentially and not simultaneously. So to charge three batteries takes like 6 hours. Might get a few individual charges to be more efficient.

My Mavic Pro (Gen1) is the same way. It charges the battery with the shortest charge time required first.

Running the Autel Evo I as well. For a few years now. Zero issues and it doesn’t have all the nanny features of DJI.

This actually does the longest charge time first it seems. So the weakest battery is charged first. Seems backwards.

Love it. So easy to fly. So easy to operate. It follows amazing. It takes off and lands on its own. Obstacle avoidance is excellent. Very very happy.
