$70K for a used Tundra? My mind is thoroughly boggled.

I've heard the prices in Cali and Texas are inflated even above what the normal "bloat" is currently in the market. It's truly crazy.

Not surprising though. Seen guys here get way more money for their trucks than should be allowed.

I really hope they're stuck with that truck as the prices come down and they end up having to take a loss on it.

Guys are getting more for them from the dealer/private too, than they normally would. I'm guessing whoever traded it in got good money for it.

No one is going to turn down extra money, dealers included.

It would be one thing if they bought it for $20k but they didn't.

That said, no way I'd pay that.

I wouldn't call it gouging. They're free to ask whatever they want. We're all free to laugh.

Can you imagine how much GAP insurance costs on vehicles with these over inflated prices?
One would really be upside down in a totaled vehicle hit by an uninsured driver...

    This will make you sick

I paid $34k Canadian for my 2019 Tundra SR5 4.6L DC 4x4 BRAND NEW, at the time the currency exchange was $0.72, so I paid $25,000 US Dollars. I drove it 2 years and got $37 CAD for it on trade.

    But today, Supply and Demand,

They are looking for a sucker.

They don’t need a lot of buyers - with just 1 truck to sell - they just need 1 sucker with more $$ than brains and willingness to do the legwork to determine fair market price or who cares less about $$ than immediately satisfying a “want” to show off.

If I was looking for said buyer - SF Craigslist is where I’d start too…

If you guys think truck prices are insane take a peek at used boat prices they are just as bad or even worse. In many ads on Craigslist the seller states "don't call and complain about my asking price"!

Gouging applies to necessities-food, water, etc. As much as we want to believe, 4x4 Tundra isn't a necessity. Free market, charge what you want.

I would be more curious about who HAS gotten a good deal within the last six months. I’m waiting it out before buying my tundra. For one, I’m not paying any sort of markup due to supply and demand issues. Two, I want to see what the 2022 specs are. Three, I think a year from now is gonna be a different story. I predict a flood of new vehicles dealerships will want to get rid of fast, some of which were sitting in a parking lot somewhere waiting on chips for a year.
