Hello all! I am Stan and new to this forum. I am excited to see all the info available for my truck.
I have a 99/2000 Tundra that had (and still does) a skip, periodically, when running. I looked around and found that cleaning the throttle body would help. I did a good job cleaning and now when I hit the gas there is no acceleration but not every time. If it happens I turn it off and restart then seems to run enough to get me where I am going. It seems to idle faster when there is no acceleration. Thanks for the help! BTW, I did see a thread containing the same issue but really did not here what the fix was exactly.

If the new problem exists after you cleaned the Throttle Body it could be that some cleaner entered the butterfly pivots.

*Unsure your cleaning method* Its recco’d that the rag be sprayed with cleaner and them wiped to clean. Some accidentally spray the fluid and then it flows onto the Throttle Body Sensor (via pivot arms) and ruins it.

    *Making assumptions*

    Your Original Problem is skipping?

    Welcome Stan!
I had this issue when I first acquired my Tundra. It wasn't throwing a CEL. I plugged my OBD2 scanner in and it indicated a misfire in cyl #6. I replaced the coil for that cyl and the problem stopped. About 15K miles ago and still running perfect.
