I had a thought earlier this month to trade my 2015 Tundra Limited Crew Max 2WD on a new 2021 4WD Tundra TRD Pro. I've seen lots of posts about insane prices being offered for used Tundras. Well lets take the opposite approach. What low ball offers have you received? My 2015 has only 41k highway miles and has been fully serviced by the Toyota dealer every year since I purchased it brand new. It has almost every factory option for 2015. I just had the Toyota service department install (4) new tires and front brakes. The service writer commented how clean that the truck was and how it basically looked brand new. So as I was discussing with a new car salesman what could would they allow me for mine on a trade the offer was $33,500. Our conversation ended at that moment.

I got that amount on my TRD Sport Tacoma (2016) with 37,500 miles on it last week. Traded to a PRO Tundra myself. Thats quite the low ball offer, I'd expect over 40K for that? What did you pay for it in 2015?

2wd is often a killer in those types of deals.....have you tried carvana? See what they'll give you......I got an insanely good offer but couldn't pull the trigger and sell the tundra

I dont think that is that low of an offer. 2wd kills the value. I have a 2015 SR5 CM 4WD with 141K and I was just offered $27k( bought for $31k in OCT 2018) on trade but just cant pull the trigger because its been such a great rig.

Like others have said I’d consider that fair being it’s 2wd, I traded a 2017 2wd w 50k on the odo for 29k before all this craziness started

If it makes you feel any better, I was only offered 12k for mine. I wouldn't let it go for twice that...

I would get quotes from Carvana and Vroom...maybe CarMax if you have one nearby as I don't know that you can do it online with them....

I am selling my 2021 with 2800 mi on the clock to Carvana for $44,100 (I paid $39k).

2 dealers offered me $39k for it and wouldn’t budge even when I showed them the Carvana offer.

2wd is the key here - it sucks, but buyer demand is towards 4x4 once you get to certain price points.

Nice truck - but think of it this way. Give a buyer a choice between a nicely optioned 6 year old well cared for 2wd truck at 39k or a base model 4x4 new at the same price. What do you think the vast majority of buyers opt for.

If I’m paying 33k - I gotta make 20% to cover my cost - reconditioning cost me a grand on even “perfect” vehicles and the sales persons take is another grand - fixed cost and buyer negotiations - realistically best I can expect to offer for is 39,995 and best I can hope to clear on a 38,500 sale is 35k.

If that truck was a 4wd - I’d add up to 5k to the trade probably and expect it to sell easily at mid 40s. It’s just the 2wd that hurts - it’s a case of tough competition. Even base model big 3s now are gonna feel “comparable” to a optioned out 2015 Limited. Reliability is clearly an advantage Toyota - but buyers shop with their eyes - not their brains.
