I had to use the spare on my '02 about 9 years ago, everything worked as advertised and I made it home.

Many years ago I was driving a truck that I acquired from my Dad. He'd injured his back on the job and could no longer drive a standard. I got off work one day and was greeted by a flat tire. The spare was old, but didn't look to bad, I hadn't inspected it before this. I put on the spare and headed home. I made it about half way before the tire shredded itself. It took out one of the fender supports, bent the fender, and broke one of the running lights. I don't risk using a questionable spare. Mine will be replaced, probably with a new tire, the next time I need new tires.

Fun piece of movie trivia. In the scene where Bill Murray bowls 3 strikes, that really happened. I need to re-watch the movie.

I stuffed a 35 but with minor clearance issues. It works, but the rubber hits before the rim is seated, so it sits maybe an inch lower than with a smaller tire

I considered trim-to-fit but thought the bed would go flimsy. Not a problem?

Anyone know if the back of the frame is same ac vs dc? I would assume, since i havent come across a ac vs dc axle.
