    Trying not to mod it
Diff breather mod just moves the breather up higher. Easy to do, but not needed if you aren't in water and such. The mud and water gets sucked in when people go fording rivers and such with water more than halfway up the wheels.

Um... yes they are. Jomax Customs has one for 35 bucks, or you can DIY it for less.

If not on your list, I would completely flush the brake system and put in new fluid. Brake fluid collects moisture as it ages and doesn't act well with brake system internals, cylinders, etc. Also, it may be tempting to do, but I don't recommend using Seafoam spray (while engine is running) to cleanup the throttle body, intake, etc. I found out the hard way on my '02 4Runner that it can kill catalytic converters.

Guys, it's a matter of choice. In my case, all the items except the fitting were laying around in my shop. So, about thirty minutes on a nice quiet Sunday morning it was done well and will last nearly forever for $8

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
I would add new spark plugs, and a new serpentine belt. Might as well just get those out of the way too since they’re close to die.

    Update with Good News

The last weekend the rear right started to make noises indicating the failure of the diff/bearings.

I spoke to the Service Manager at the dealership. I explained that I was disappointed that they'd never recommended or even counseled me regarding the service of the diff/tranny/transfer case, at fluid. While there's no proof that the failure to change oil lead to the failure, it may have caught it earlier or under warranty. I offered to pay their parts cost and half the labor for the replacement. They considered that, called me back and did a little better than that even. So, nobody is perfect, but these guys stepped up and took care of me. I'm scheduled for early next week to bring the vehicle in, they say it will take 1-2 days to complete.

Hopefully they don't get it apart and call you up and say "well we found four other issues, the cost for those will be $1436.87". Wish you the best of luck!!

FWIW I just read about a guy who bought a Tundra with about 9k on the clock. Previous owners backed a boat in the water and flooded the rear end. New owner went many years and 84k miles before the bearings failed. Not bad Toyota! This is the new bearings for a 2013.Screenshot_20210702-121558.jpg

I just got back from a 3k mile road trip of the Western USA and the truck is running fine. Also, the Miles to Empty is now calibrating correctly after fixing the bearings and differential.

I just hit 170k on my 2017 and the left rear bearing is starting to make noise, I also had the warning light come on last month which was the beginning of the demise of the bearing. Today I pulled the wheel speed sensor out and sure enough there's a bunch of metal shit in the cavity. Can also physically feel play in the bearing by pulling up and down on the axle. I ordered all of the parts to replace both bearings and seals as well as a gear oil change.
The Tundra's main usage is commuting although I do pull an enclosed 24' dual axle car trailer every few weekends throughout the year but I've changed the gear oil every 30k~ish miles.

When I put the scan tool on the truck to monitor the wheel speed sensors I noticed it was the left rear sensor and when I pulled it to inspect I noticed the metal starting to show but figured i'd just wait for the bearing to make noise before doing the replacement.

FYI we've ran these rears completely dry on a lift to warranty a differential and it took almost an hour of dry run time to kill the differential. These things are built extremely well, for the dealer to say you need the entire rear replaced is a bit absurd... and then to recommend the axle bearings as well, id sure hope they would be replacing them regardless if they actually sold you on that replacement.

Chances are you have an axle bearing taking a shit but you're really not going to see much in the gear oil that comes out... you might see the slightest discoloration but that's typically normal.

Keep us updated on how you make out with the warning light and stealership experiences.

*edit* I just saw your last post stating you had the stealership replace the bearings
