New pic this morning on the official page and another posted in the comments on Facebook….don’t know how accurate the 2nd one is but looks promising.

I already upgraded my head unit to a Kenwood DMX1057XR. Seems like my 2021 will look just like the 2022!

Wasn't thinking about upgrading, but the drivers pillar handle could be the deciding factor, LOL.

They look more like renders than actual photos. Either way it's a tease...

Looks like they are playing with the tundra at trona pinnacles in that interior picture. Wonder if they shot a commercial for it there.

looks like a lower roof/shorter windshield. Obviously a small thing but I like a more open canopy for the best view. My Tundy is a road trip tourist mobile for panoramic views of mountains. Other than that it looks fine. Big fancy screen is a plus. I like toys. drivers side oh shit bar is a double bonus.

Those look like renders. Real background photo with some stock interior view laid over top. The outdoor lighting doesn't mesh with the lighting on the truck.

Yeah, when you look at the roof in the exterior pic, and the amount of glass compared to the current tundra, it does look like a lower windshield.(looks more like the LC in that respect too)

Can we get a “just a radio” option. I personally hate these big screens/tech I don’t need.

Kinda makes you think, maybe the best decision for the buyer regarding the driver's side handle on the 2.5gen was not in fact to remove it, but Toyota was unwilling to spend any R&D $$ at all to redesign one to fit with the air bag's alleged added safety risk on such an ancient truck. Part of what makes them the most profitable automaker in the world is choosing what to redesign and what to just delete toward the end of long-running platforms with very little market share...:notsure:

Spend money on the 12-year-old Tundra? <slowly slides cost/benefit analysis across the table, laughs in Toyota>

Will the 3rd gen come with a external trans cooler? Or will it get a new transmission that was actually designed to run without one?

Best is being used subjectively here. Best for safety? Yes. Best for consumer happiness/expectation? No. Personally, I don't think the deletion is the big deal that it's made out to be. The rest of the Tundra has been relatively solid, so we really are in "first world problems" scenario when we have to hunt that hard for something to complain about.

I hope that's just poor Photoshop and not one of those digital rearview mirrors like GM does.

I'd bet money it's a photoshop. It looks like the kind of interior shots you see on the auto websites using their 360 views.

I'll take a digital mirror. Put the camera on the little fin thingy on the roof like a backwards periscope so you can see over all the crap you're hauling.

I think the way the hood is ,it slopes down and by all appearances maybe giving a better visibility over the hood. My wife complains about the height and visibility over the hood on mine.

You shouldn't. They're actually pretty great and you would not only get used to it quickly but probably love it. The ones I've seen also work like a normal rearview mirror when they're off. The only problem I had with it was it's inside my "fuzzy without reading glasses" range.

Agree 100%, I hope that's an option. I to am not a big screen fan, your supposed to be driving not messing with all this tech stuff.

Toyota needs to just get on with the release, we haven't seen anything that's moving the bar upward compared to the other manufactures yet. It's almost like the truck isn't ready yet and they are gauging what we like and dislike and then might make adjustments.

Ours had the manual switch to have it a mirror and then if you switched it was the screen. They aren't that great at night so that's where the manual comes in. Really handy on road trips when your wife overpacks and you can't see out the back.

Would be super handy in a truck if you're constantly hauling things in the bed.

For those rare occasions I just revert to the ol' CDL habits of side mirrors only.

I didn't know it could function as a regular mirror as well. How does that work? Does the regular mirror look normal, or is it kinda funny like the turn signal indicators in the glass of some side mirrors?

My preference still stands, but I am curious.

The range-topping model is allegedly the LX 750h that would use an electrically assisted version of the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 to make a total of 480 horsepower (358 kilowatts) and 642 pound-feet (871 Newton-meters) of torque

that would get it done, 642, lol, wow
