Has anyone had theirs replaced and know how difficult it was? Mine is still intact, but it was a Florida truck and it looks like the heat deformed it in a way to where is is showing waves in the glass and it annoys me as it squeaks a little when I roll it down because of this.

It looks someone on eBay has them for less than $200, but I have no idea what kind of endeavor this would be to actually replace it.

This was a CPO vehicle listed in pristine condition I bought sight unseen, could this be covered under the 12 month full warranty? I got it a few months ago.

    Thank you!!

Is the window tinted? Could that be the issue? An yes that should be covered on a CPO vehicle but I could be wrong.

CPO warranty explicitly excludes windows, but hopefully your dealer will be able to help/make it right if the glass is an issue.

Thanks! I wrote the main Toyota office on it just now, I guess I'll see what they have to say. I tried the local dealer and they just ignored me. I bought it online from FL and I'm in MI, so I can't go to original dealer. It's hard to see in this photo, but I've put a level up to it and you can see where there is light coming thru from the waves, if that makes sense.

Tough to say for sure (angle/etc), but Damn son that looks like it does have some warp to it. Are you sure it wasn't replaced at some time with plexi-glass. (Kidding, but seriously, that is crazy)

Can't see the pics at work here but it sound like it's definitely not the tint.

Also, does anyone else's rear window have small holes along the top ridge of the window? My 2008 did not have this, but this one has like 8 or 10 small evenly spaced holes right along the top?

Yeah, this dealer really f'd me with the finer details. Several small 1st world problems I found after the fact and some before it was delivered, but they already had the check and I was 2000 miles away to even see it beforehand. Pissed me off. Chips everywhere, bed was jacked up bad with dents they failed to mention, among other things like this warped window.. I know it's a truck, but Jesus.

Lol. It does look like plexiglass doesn't it? I do wonder of it was replaced at some point because the previous owner jacked everything else up back there. Dents, scratches, etc

I'm thinking it was. It wasn't in the carfax, but supposedly the PO was an employee of the dealership so who knows what the true history is.

Carfax can be hit or miss on its reporting. When I was looking for a Taco back in 2016-2017 I came across one at a Toyota shop. It had 50K miles and the engine and compartment looked FACTORY NEW, however the grill, hood and body lines were off. Paint was obviously new and poorly blended. Poor plastic welds on the headlight mounting tabs. Carfax was "clean"...sorry but that was a hard pass.

It looks way darker than mine. I wonder if it was replaced at some point. I live in extreme hot weather, it's been 111 the last 3 day, and I've never seen this problem with anyone else in town.

I also have no holes at the top of glass

Mine is covered up by this sticker but in the lower left corner there is some Toyota part numbers in the glass. Picture on the right is from the inside. Dont know if that matters at this point but might be some leverage with the dealer about undisclosed repairs if it's not factory

Yep, I just checked and this is NOT Toyota OEM. Some other company label on there. I wonder if I can get a new one now since it was CPO, and this is not a Toyota part. What a sleazy dealership

Not difficult at all to replace. To say I’m an amateur is an insult to amateurs. It’s pretty much plug and play. I bought a replacement from a local windshield guy and replaced myself. I can’t recall the step by step directions, but when you remove the back panel you remove the holders and disconnect the defroster. Pull the glass out and replace with new.

Thanks! So you have to remove the back seat in order to replace the rear window or can it be done without removing? Appreciate your time!

Absolutely. I had to do mine because they couldn't get to me for a few days and I was headed out of town.

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
    Sorry this happened OP!
The fact that the bed has marks and the rear window was busted makes me believe there was something that hit the bed and forced it into the cab (causing the window to break)**Edit: if the window was down, of course.
Or maybe something like storm damage (just an idea with it having been in fL).
Can you see in between the bed and cab? Does the back of the cab have damage?

Is the dealer a Toyota dealership? If so, I’d reach out to Toyota and explain that the window (and body damage) were not disclosed and not on the carfax, and see if they can work with a different (local) dealer, to help take care of you.
If the dealership you bought it from is not a Toyota dealership, or if you’re not getting any support, post the contact info/ social media links for dealership you bought it from.
Sad world we’re in today….but a little public shaming, or excessive amounts of calls/fb posts can be persuasive!
    Good luck with it all!!

Not to hijack but also totally hijacking, I have a double cab without the sliding window. Is it possible to replace it with a rear window that has a slider? Haven't found a definitive answer yet

You can replace with Horizontal slider (small one in center) its a urethane set but def not full vertical slider unless you cut up back of a CAB from a crew max and do some serious modding
