Wouldn’t that be funny if they have a HD with a v8tt. Maybe a 2/3 ton truck. They need to have their own special niche as a selling point.

I think it looks good. Maybe it’s just me. Doesn’t mean I’m going to run out and buy one right away though.

Much crow would have to be consumed.

Seriously doubt it but, if I'm wrong, I hope crow tastes like chicken.

Wonder if the 6 lug will be the same size as Tacoma’s/4runners. Would be nice to be able to run some of those TRD wheels

Don't know if anyone has picked it out yet or not but the tires on the official release are 285/65r18. So a little bit more meat than the current pros come with but more importantly is that's an E rated tire.

I realize this isn't a picture of a production truck and may be nothing more than a rendering or prototype but if the OE tires are indeed E rated that's a good sign for payload and towing

perhaps they will. Theres been talk of at least 3 engine options. I’m glad a lot of people on here don’t like the looks and have all ready decided they will never own one based of the first pics out lol. Better availability for me :spending:

    - No Lightbar
    - No "Toyota" logo but looked it has the traditional Toyota emblem.
    - Taller mirror's
    - Low profile tires maybe on r20 wheels

    - the "ah shit' handle is there on the driver's side.
    - Looking at the distance from the rear wheel well to the end of the truck compared to the white TRD PRO this definitely has a longer bed.

That's cuz it's not the Honda Ridgeline version(crewmax), it's a Dbl Cab truck.

Going back and looking at the shot of the undercarriage has me curious. That truck has the exhaust running down the driver side and a passenger fuel tank. Passenger tank means passenger fill.

The official image shows driver side fill. May add validity to a 2nd completely different engine choice. Or could just be prototype where they're trying different setups.

Or one image or the other may be inverted. Unless you can see which side the steering wheel is on. The undercarriage shot could very well be inverted, couldn't it?

I highly doubt they'll put E rated tires on many trucks, if any. Bad for fuel economy.

What do HD trucks come with?

They put E rated tires on the trucks because they are rated to tow and haul E rated loads, the truck is built for the E rated tire, so it really does nothing to gas mileage. You are thinking the scenario when you put E rated tires on a truck that does not require them, and the tires are heavier than stock therefore reducing fuel mileage due to more weight.

If those are indeed E rated tires on the pro, and they are stock, it really does bode well for towing and hauling. They would not put them on there unless they needed it.

A V8 might get me past the looks. Ugly and a v6 is a sad deal plus they're last to the TTv6 party.

Long time ago. I think TFL posted one. That was when we found out the rear wouldn't have leaf springs.

I'm not seeing what some others are seeing in that there are a "LOT of people hating it." I was actually expecting a lot more hatred than I saw on here. I tried to start a poll but either this site doesn't have them or I don't know how to set one up (or don't have the privileges being new here).

If this site does have a poll feature, I'd like to see one created in this section, with comments CLOSED (only because there are too many threads like that anyway) which asks only if you like the look of the 22 Tundra with three choices:

    1. I like/love it and may/will buy one soon
    2. I'm not thrilled with what I've seen so far but there's a chance it will grow on me
    3. I hate it and you can mark my words I'll never be caught dead in one even if I was in the middle of the desert near death and it came to my rescue

    I'm betting either 1 or 2 on it's own will beat 3.

It might be a little too soon because we still know little to nothing on the interior, the specs and the differences between the trims but the fewer the questions, the better the poll. I'm not trying to start one in this thread but I would choose number 1.

First time poster and was all on board with the new Bronco last year but after production delays and deciding I really wanted a truck again I started looking.

I’ve had 16’ F150 loaded Lariat but only full size truck. I have had each generation Taco and my wife drove a 4Runner for a while. We both like Yota’s and I just couldn’t decide on a full size truck.

I’ve been regularly checking on the 4th Gen Tundra and based on what I’ve seen, which isn’t much, I am on board. I have a higher level of confidence in Toyota for a vehicle launch than I do with others. I hope the Taco Grande (that is great btw..badges maybe?) serves me as well as all my Taco’s.

Credit to @Nightshade Tundra for this pic way back at the beginning of the thread, but now that we see the actual truck this looks accurate. The mismatched colors makes me think it's a WIP, but you can see some details.

    My thoughts:
    • Possible glimpse at another wheel option (TRD Off-Road?), and the tame rubber around it might be what the non Pros get standard. This would mean that they are actually listening and putting better tires on the Pro.
    • The holes/vents under the headlight could be functional for intercoolers on the turbos, maybe? I doubt it, as toyota's styling has always included faux vents. Current gen Tundra, 4Runner, and Supra all have them.
    • The mismatched colors might indicate that the darker parts (MGM?) are connected, so the front assembly would be more akin to what the 4Runners have. This would mean aftermarket bumpers and such might require the same kind of :sawzall: as the 4Runners. :(
    • The visible wheel well doesn't have the black accents that are on the official Pro image. Does this mean that those are the bits that put the Pro beyond 80" width and require the 3 marker lights in the hood and tailgate?:monocle:
    • The grille that is visible kinda reminds me of the current 1794/Trail option, BUT it has no chrome. With this and the beefier tires on the Pro... Is Toyota actually listening to the feedback they've been given?
    • The part directly below the grille that is stamped "TUNDRA" on the Pro doesn't have that camo/press molded carbon fiber look. Are those accents Pro only for this piece, the fender accents, and the piece on top of the tailgate with the marker lights?

You must want a F150. I’ve been a Tundra driver for years now and I have to say Tundra drivers have no room to comment on other brands parking or driving. I often try to park away from other Taco’s and Tundra’s. :)

What made me laugh were the similarities between this truck and the white TRDPro photo released by Toyota.
