Doors off top off cruising with the family in an off road vehicle?

Keep the Tundra. Buy a side by side with 4 seats, and a trailer if needs be to tow it on. Take it places where you can rip around in the side by side.

You keep your reliable truck, and get something more fun to use off road in the open air than a Gladiator.

I've liked the Gladiator since the first time I saw it. As others have suggested, take your family for a "test-fit" in one before deciding.I'm not sure about how reliable the Jeep would be. My 2010 Tundra with 84800 miles had it's first non-maintenance repair the other day.The bed bolts needed tightening! If this is the so called reliability I can expect from Toyota, I'm selling! Good luck OP, we appreciate what you do!:oldglory:

Thanks brother, I have a friend that manages a local Jeep dealership and she said I can borrow one for a few days to test that fit out. That’s honestly my biggest concern as I wouldn’t be keeping it out of warranty, and resale is second to none on jeeps.

This would be my reason for not getting one.
My nephew has one with 37s it’s nice but he uses it as a mall crawler.6ED4D4F6-28A8-43F1-A52D-562186F047DC.jpg

Loose bed bolts after 11 months would suck, but after 11 years??? o_O Bed bolts are easy to check and tighten. Bed bolts on any 4X4 should be inspected from time to time especially if it sees a lot of off road use or had a previous history of off road use. Our non box frames have a lot of flex.

Yeah it would be interesting to hear the circumstances of this damage. Excessive idiot type high speed I'm guessing.

This has been well documented as operator error.

Despite the hate and fear, they are good vehicles for the most part. Could you have issues, of course, just like anything else, but for the most part they are good. An can be a lot of fun.

The owner has two kids and large breed dog that fits. I'm doing him a favor. Now he will still have a reliable tow rig to get his family home.

That seems to be the theme these days.

Owners: we have smoke coming from the dash behind our infotainment system.
GM: we'll get our team in China working on a software update for that.

You can't use software patches to fix hardware problems or non robust designs. :der:

From everything I've read, FCA is one of the least reliable auto manufacturers. You'd have to pay me a lot to drive one.
