I’ll be first in line. Very much looking forward to this truck. Reminds me of any major body style change. It’s polarizing but any design change worth its salt is going to be. I have a feeling this will be a well loved truck once we live with it for a while.

That was one of the nice things about my new ram, I was able to get all of the tech package and night edition package but still get cloth bench seats. I’m not a huge fan of leather in 110 degree heat and my daughter loves to ride in the front center seat anytime we’re off road.

It would be cool to see the soft tec seats in the tundra like my wife’s 4Runner has. Or at least a premium cloth seat option like ram so that the sr5 trim seats can stand out a little more for people who don’t want leather but still like nice seats.

The aftermarket grill companies are wetting their pants on this one. If you block out the grill the truck looks fantastic but holy crap the grill is painful. Also hearing about a Goodyear Blimp size Tundra logo on rear so that will need to go also.

So far we've only seen the stamped tailgate on the TRD Pro. I would hope they don't do the same thing for non Pros.

Over all I like it, so far. I am looking forward to the interior pics.
Then specs, trim levels and pricing.

Do I plan on getting at the moment its a 80% yes.

But with that said I spent the couple hours in the seat of my 2019, driving back roads and secondary highways, what I call those paved narrow 2 lane roads that in my teen years were the main highways, until the new 4 lanes went in, then they were placed under county authority.
Anyway It was some good seat time. I put about 1300 miles on this week driving around, tundra handles great, the trd exhaust is really starting to burn in with a nice deep rumble esp on take off and acceleraton. Its about half way paid for.

Will see when I get my hands on 2022 to test drive, who knows maybe I wont care for it, but if I do, I am getting a TRDPRO this time around, its what I have always wanted, so if I jump I might as well jump into the deep end.

Well not really a fan but I'm sure it will grow on me. Looks they took one design cue from every other manufacturers product and combined them on one truck.

This doesn't look that bad as you make it seem. It seems like Toyota hired a Range Rover engineer though as the outside cabin looks like a Rover to me. Overall looks pretty good to me.

More power is pretty much useless due to speed limits and such, so I will keep the better looking 21.

Trade values are high right now due to lack of inventory. If there is still a lack of inventory then there will still be high trade values. If you mean when the lots are full of 2022s to look at, then I don't think so. You'll still get good trade value, but not the stupid high trader over market value that they are offering right now.

Depends on what the used market is like and the economy.

If the used market is still strong like it is now then yes I think we would still get top dollar, if the economy starts to tank to due to inflation and a increase in interest rates, then its anyone guess.

I think we will have a better understanding by fall how things will be going.

Hopefully toyota offers a 0% for 72 on the new tundra, down side the PRO will be excluded like always.

Look at the 4Runner and Tacoma. Toyota has had this kind of design language for YEARS. Are you saying the other manufacturers stole their design cues from Toyota? Because EVERY design cue on the new Tundra is right there in the 4R and Taco. They even put it into the new design of the Rav4.

Ok, since nobody else seems to have noticed, Toyota released the first of a series of pics last night on their press page. Here: First Official Look: 2022 Toyota Tundra - Toyota USA Newsroom

I took the liberty of zooming in on the hi-res copy to peek at some things and so far it's looking great!

Here is the pic from a far and you start to notice they took a lot of cues from their Big3 competition. We are looking at the TRDPro here in White on Red Interior.

    Tp0SLw_9ffa1111211fb7d87058a1175e8688e5cde656f7.jpg

Right off the bat it looks like we have adaptive cruise control and 360 cameras finally!

    68Kk4R_760738c96daa1694148459ce95d8b6a9761c4890.jpg

"Raptor" lights to fit within DOT width requirements.

    gQWjL8_d8d3a200f14653792fa0d736949e604329f0a149.jpg

Speaking of lights. No more Halogen! Thank god! Nice detail with the bolts etc inside the housings.

    rkiOnG_846aeb60900def4c4c4faa940ecd58801c416c2f.jpg

Looks like some nice TRD wheels and either a red skid plate or red LCA's for the TRD Pro suspension.

    sJkUfE_c69ada18cd8746386b5239e81cac6b668919af0c.jpg

Wow! Ok. Red Leather interior, red seatbelts, camera (for 360 system I presume) and turn signals on mirror and TRD Pro hood vent

    w2AgwI_aa736dcb28337645a006c40f9bde54acf989d723.jpg

Not a fan of the fake forged carbon fender flares but oh well...

    Bu8XFT_17962f0f4a0d3b95758c9677445e99d9c12edde9.jpg

Most likely TRD Dual Exhaust system and looks like a retractable step for rear bumper.

    LUjLeN_ec3ec81d414be8bb8174997776f8bd5b93790354.jpg

So far so good! I REALLY hope they nail the interior. RAM has been killing it with the interior material selection and fit and finish. Toyota needs a REAL sound system and better materials!

    Thoughts?

Um, no? Power isn't just speed. Power and torque let it move larger loads more easily for better/easier towing.

Cognitive dissonance is a hell of a drug...the hand wringing and angst is most amusing to say the least.
Two years from now with the latest mods these new Tundras will be beloved...and the haters will deny their former perceptions...
It's all about perception and how it changes...
Anxious now to hear about the mechanicals of the machine. ;)

I think with metallic grey paint, black interior with red stitching and seat belts, and a pre runner front end, dark tint….yeah I could sport it.

I've owned a 2014 since new and put a lot into it, but I'm ready for some change...

So it looks like the Crewcab in the TRD Pro appearance package trim is still just a glorified SUV with that postage stamp size bed. Will be interesting to see if a longer bed is available for the Crewcab. Otherwise the Dbl Cab will still be the best truck out of the two. o_O:popcorn:

I'm seeing a lot of Raptor style vents, grille lights and hood badges, Ford style goofy headlights, and the over all mishmash front end look of the new Silverado. Hardly original other than putting the oversized 4R carp grille on it.
