In full disclosure, it was a Toyota Cash incentive. We were buying it outright.

Toyota Red Tag days or something.

Gateway Toyota. Bought my 2020 in November 2019.

I thought that was a deal from Toyota at the time but that was at the same time they were also offering $10k off the leftover 2019s. According to Gateway's website, they had one or two 2019 SR5s left; all anybody else had at the time was Platinums, which were still $55k even after taking $10k off. However, when I got there they discovered the 2019s had all sold so they offered me a good deal on a 2020. Ended up working out in my favour as I was able to get my name on an MGM that was on its way in rather than settling for black.

That's even stranger. My experience with dealerships is they give better deals for financing since they get a kick back from the banks.

That is a good deal. I'd love to buy at my local dealership, but if somewhere else beats them by thousands it's a no brainer.

They're in a tiny minority, but they're gaining in popularity. Before I left the oil/gas industry, I was seeing alot more consultants using them. Guys who don't need HD towing and hauling capacity seem to be buying more Tundras. 3/4 and 1 ton diesels are still the primary personal vehicles in GP though.

I always wonder if I could have gotten a better deal if I'd emailed a bunch of dealers but that deal kind of fell into my lap. I was only planning to buy that day if I could get a leftover 2019 as I think they had the SR5 listed for $40k. But I'm also glad I didn't give Sherwood Toyota any of my money.

We did that with our 2020 Rav. Financed through dealer, paid off loan after a few months and the dealer cut us a cheque for $1500 or so and they pocketed some from Toyota. With the $600 interest we paid for the few months of the open loan, we came out with an extra $900 or so off the price in the end.

Well, every time I take the wife's 2013 Corolla with fewer than 100k kms in for an oil change, "oh, water pump is leaking badly, needs a replacement, timing cover is sweating, should probably replace it, blah, blah, blah". And there's just something slimey about the salesmen I don't like.

We'll see what the technology does in that time. I'd need the ability to tow my trailer about 100 miles (or maybe more), have it sit for a week with no power and then tow it back.

Wading through the initial comments here and on various truck related & non-truck related sites, most do not like the appearance of the new front end. Toyota may have disenfranchised a large number of potential buyers with their new plastic superstructure front bumper / grille on this Tundra. We shall see.

And I guess Toyota had to design a massive front end / grille & bumper for the 3rd gen tundra to compensate for the smaller package under the hood.

They said the same stuff when the 4Runner got this treatment. 4Runner sales have increased every. single. year. The naysayers are just louder than those who don't mind the look.

I have no dog in this fight. I plan to keep my current truck until I die, or it does.

Not at all. It reminds me of the 4Runner. You know, the other Toyota that has had this exact design language for years.

Idk why everyone is complaining the third gen is probably the ugliest out of all 1/2 tons but we still bought those. I’ll probably buy one just bc of the technology improvements and of course the shit mpg of the third gen.

I’m not crazy about the headlights, but I think the rest of it looks good. I think my ‘21 Pro looks good too so what do I know. Those who think the current gen looks good WTH is wrong with you? F150s are completely butt fucking ugly. Rams don’t look good to me. SMH.

Would I buy based upon that picture of the white truck? Hell no.

It looks like a bigger truck. My 2021 is not the easiest to maneuver in tight spaces now. Bigger? Um..no.

The front is too much grill. And by that, I mean ugly. But I expected that has it seems every manufacturing is going to that big plastic grill design across all lines.

And what is with those black fender flares or trim pieces around the wheel well. Again to me that looks really bad. Not a fan of fender flares, and definitely not a fan of fender flares that likely cannot be removed. Again..no.

And the wheels....I suppose it is black flares making the wheel wells look bigger, but those wheels/tires look a bit small.

And again, it could just the blackness of it all, but the glass looks to be shorter, and again I know that is the way many are going. Looks like somebody took a big hand and just pushed the roofline down 3-4".

Not a fan of the black inserts on the top of the hood. Likely plastic. And likely to fade out over the years. No.

    Now what do I like?

I like the side steps. They are almost stealth in design.

I like the red trim on the center caps. Keeping that TRD Pro vibe going.

I like the modern design of the head lamps.

Looks perfect, best looking tundra to date and I usually need a few years on a new design. I never liked the 2nd/3rd gen double cabs and the cc was on the bottom of the list for looks. Now just need the specs. Looks are way down on my list of top priorities so hopefully the v6tt isnt a pain to work on
