    New GR86 sounds promising.

Meh. It's supposed to be a good driving experience, but it's not particularly fast. It's not a major power bumper over the current 86 from what I remember in the article Toyota emailed to me.

Is the current 2021 Tundra’s instrument cluster all virtual on a display monitor? My friends’ new 2021 vehicles whether a high end Benz or Nissan Rogue have Tesla-like dashes and the look can be changed because it’s basically software. They also project speed etc on the windshield. Wonder if the 2022 will be same.

I'm basing my statement on one reviewer who rode in one being impressed.

No. 2021 dashboard isn't any different than the 2019. Analog dials with a screen in the middle with options to cycle through.

Compare that to a similarly priced WRX and it's not very exciting. By all accounts it's a great driving experience and seating position, but it's not fast.

The cosmetics are neither nay or yay for me, it is what it is and will be the new look I’ll end up liking as the previous gen starts looking older. But better payload and hybrid mpg as long as the same reliability and I’m in sooner or later!

The new style GMC/Chevy HD trucks are 81” wide, but still optional.

The 86, while not a convertible, is similar to a Miata in the driving experience. They are lightweight, well balanced vehicles that provide great handling and a high level of fun when combined with a manual transmission. It's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow....

Renault bought them in 1999. Been circling the drain since. Wouldn’t own one.

Ridiculous how hard they make it to negotiate OTD full price prior to financing. I get quite the workout standing up to walk out then sitting back down when they relent and preset the numbers how I want. Doing my Tundra by email was quite nice and basically had a preset that I'll discuss financing and trade after we agree upon OTD cost on the new truck.

So many complaints about the Tundra being old with 2007 being the last big redesign - guess what else came out in 2007: the Nissan GT-R. So not sure we can call it new in any way.

So, was that it for 6/17? Seems like little to no info or am I wrong?

You nailed it. My F150 Ecoboost has power for days. I live at 6500' and am usually towing at 7500-8000' and it pulls like a locomotive at those elevations . . . . . . . . until it overheats. I have a big Mishimoto radiator, oil cooler, big intercooler and big trans cooler and the coolant temps will still get up to 240+.

I am really hoping the TT V6 has the mechanical cooling fan that was shown on the Land Cruiser engine along with a big a** radiator.

I don’t think it will take very long for two reasons.

    1. Outside of Jeep’s I think Toyota trucks are the second highest on the aftermarket modification list therefore the innovative/demand will be there.

    2. Toyota has never strayed too far from base camp. Meaning there a typically are only small tweaks to the vehicle. All generations of all Toyota truck share parts and many have parts that are interchangeable. I would be shocked if they changed this mindset…

With that logic, this is a Tundra forum, and you have a 4Runner..... You're completely welcome here, and so are derails and banter. :p

Ummmmm, not sure that 1st gen shares anything with 2nd gen, and what we call the 3rd gen on here is still just a 2nd gen with a refresh. I fully expect the new Tundra to be all new. I mean, sure, some bolts and fasteners might be used, but that's about it.

Yeah but the GTR has had many many upgrades through that time span including power output, unlike the Tundra. It has been improved way more than the Tundra has in that time frame. Not really a comparison at all.

It’s for the width of the trailer, I’m thinking if it’s 101” wide. Not a well enforced law for pickups.

I'm sure that email address is there as a security watermark to trace a leak in an instance exactly like this. I feel bad for him--from the angles looks like maybe another employee was in the office watching the meeting and snapped some pics over his shoulder and leaked them but Joe was logged in to the dealer meeting so that's why his email is showing.

Definitely poor choose of words there….you are correct. I have used many 1st gen Tundra and 2nd gen Tacoma parts on my 1st gen Tacoma. I used 3rd gen Tacoma parts on my 2nd gen Tacoma. I was going to to use FJ parts on my 5th gen 4Runner before I sold it. By no means are they exact parts but certain parts are interchangeable.
