Bought a 21 trdpro about a month ago and I like this new design.

Hope to see the non pro and interior layout soon. Would be kinda cool if it fits with the land cruisers setup on the inside.

I hope the trade in prices are still high by the time this hits the lot. I could get into another tundra for free

For an "EarlyRiser", you sure seem to have gotten here late for all the back and forth poo-slinging. ;):p

I don't know about you, as long as it refers to the Tundra, I find it to be entertainment.

The more folks who like the new design means more used trucks, so none of this is a bad thing. People always hate change even if it might end up positive for them....just need to wait long enough for the new thing to not be new anymore lol.

Resale should stay strong if Toyota drops the V8 IMO.

It looks like a Tacoma inflated to a higher PSI.

Straight trade is more of a pipe dream, but possibly a $5K-$10k trade difference.....

maybe. Just got an offer for 7k above what I paid less than a month ago from carmax and the same salesman that sold me the truck offered 5k over when I had it in for a warranty service last week. ...AND they still are holding to their "never above MSRP" policy on new vehicles. They may just be paying me to get into a 22 soon. :)

My last Tacoma was a 2004 and I still like the look of those better than anything since then for Tacomas. I bought a '21 Tundra because I've seen where Toyota design trends are going and I'm not a fan, and because I wanted a V8. It doesn't have to be about which "looks better", everyone has their own preferences and it's OK people.

To those bagging on the looks....
As a HUGE Gen1 Nissan Titan fan, who was super excited to see the Gen2 Titan after the Nissan Warrior concept came out, think about how disappointed I was to see the steaming pile of poo Nissan dropped on us in 2016....a blatant F-150 rip-off designed by a female with a self-destructing V8. And, even being an obvious F-150 rip-off, somehow Nissan eff'ed that up too, it somehow took the nicer F-150 elements and made them uglier.

Now I'm here, jumping ship to Toyota, and reading people freaking out about Toyota making a unique design.
I think the looks are OK, I might agree that the 2Gen Tundra (2007-2021) generally looks better, but I have some concerns:
-locking diff on TRD Pro finally?
-The TTV6 engine is going to be significantly more expensive than the past Tundra engines. Along with all trucks getting more expensive in general, throwing in an expensive engine is just going to make the truck that much more expensive. My guess is the TTV6 will have cost penalty of $2K-$5K
-Really concerned Toyota will pare down the options list for 3Gen Tundra, such as limiting desirable trims like TRD Pro to only crew cabs. Used to need a crew cab, now we would prefer an extended cab as the family gets older and size shrinks, and it would SUCK to not be able to buy an off-road ready truck (with real locker!) in a smaller cab size.

Something that everyone needs to consider is that the leaked photos were poor quality and skewed. The pics everyone is looking at now are photoshopped revisions. The actual appearance will be better projected once the official pics are released.

This. Right now my truck is worth about $47K. I bought it for $41.7K. I’m under no illusion that I’d pay less than MSRP, but I’d be fine with an SR5 with a 36-gal tank and another option or two, and trading my truck in on that.

I just got a straight trade a month ago trading an f250 for a Chevy 2500, didn’t cost me a penny extra. I’m hoping a 2022 SR5 tundra with TRD off road package will have about a 1700-2000lb payload and I’ll be golden

All these renderings make me want to puke.

No matter where on the truck we get a peak of something, it looks completely copied from a Ford Ram or GMC. Nothing looks original and unique to Toyota.
Am I the only one who looks at this and says "that looks like shit, because it looks like the other trucks that I would never buy!".
Raptor lights in the grill, Ram hood and fenders, f150 tailgate, GMC body, Ford tail lights and head lights. Even some Ridgeline lines too!

I'm disappointed so far that all Toyota looks like they are doing is copying and copying and copying. I'm happy with my 17' as it looks definitively Toyota and not a some offspring of a CraptoRamanali.

Toyota will release this style for the next decade and it will already outdated by the time we actually get to see the stupid thing in person. Wtf

Ok I said it, anyone else feel similar?

Hard for me to say how much I like or dislike it from the pictures. I will admit that I usually don't care for the look of new designs from Toyota at first, I disliked the most recent cosmetic upgrades to the Tundra and 4Runner, but as time went on and I saw the trucks in person, I warmed to them and love how they look now. I expect it will be the same with the new Tundra if these pictures are legit.

In all fairness to toyota there is only so much that can be done to a trucks body, thanks to all the DOT, Fuel mileage standards, CAFE standards, safety standards and all the other bullshit auto manufactures have to deal with.

No matter what brand, they all deal with it.

    With Craptor lights?
There is no one that looks at those amber lights in the grill, and says "wow, Toyota is the first to do that!"
I dunno, tweaking someone else's idea isn't an original design.
    Do you like the grill?
I don't because I see the Craptorlights, but that's just me.

They didnt do it because they "wanted to". It's DOT mandatory for a vehicle thats 80" or wider.

We’re all entitled to our opinions, but really, nothing looks unique to Toyota? Every auto manufacturer has their own familiar styling generally between vehicles. This clearly has loads of similarities to the Tacoma, 4runner the latest LC, RAV4, Avalon…I mean even the latest Sienna lol. Any car enthusiast could look at these leaks and identify it as a Toyota…not a Ford, Nissan, GMC…etc.

Sure certain aspects may be similar to other models, but I mean there’s only so much freedom the designers have to make an aggressive looking truck with the goal of being esthetically pleasing to the majority.

    So much negativity.
