I don’t hate it but to me, it’s like they took pieces of a bunch of different trucks(Ram & Ford) and threw it together. Along with the 4Runner like grill, it’s just underwhelming to me.

What a Karen...guy cries about "the secret" let out when it's been teased and dragged out with promises and then nada time and time again...frustrating a lot of people...me for sure.
Dealer's lots across the country have nada, zip, nothing for inventory...and a pittance of a teaser gets shown and even though he's complaining about the dealer (though we don't for for sure the guys email wasn't spoofed) letting the "big secret out"...he shows it and gets attention for it...o_O

Now that I think of it, it reminds me of a Japanese Koinobori in truck form. (carp streamer. Basically a wind sock....ha!)

He seems to not understand that Toyota is in business to make $$$. A big part of that business model involves their dealer network, and keeping those guys and gals with millions of dollars worth of inventory, and infrastructure happy and informed. The dealers rank much much higher on the list of VIP’s than any automotive journalists.

Yup. Pretty bad. Looks like they copied the 2019 GM trucks, and made it with a classy Chinese knockoff vibe. Good thing is that the value of the 3rd gen just went way up.

Honestly the exterior has been pretty well rendered for a while, the real holy grail is the interior leak.

Yeah I don’t understand all the angst about the shape of the cab. It’s a truck you ding bats, the front windshield is gonna be sloped, it will have big ass slab sided doors, and the back is going to be shaped like a box. What did you think it was going to be a fastback roofline? That would be pants on head retarded.

A box is good back there, a box maximizes interior volume. Plus for those who want to run a topper that box shape will mate up seamlessly with a bed topper.

As our crustacean friend points out the real concern is the interior. How is the storage, what kind of room, infotainment, driver aids etc?

Taco 3.5 has more similarities to the Camry than it does not. Drove one last year for a week. High revving crap engine. Can’t imagine towing in the mountains with that engine. Twin turbos will offer some low rpm torque.

Indeed .. added crap on tailgate is always a fail. Just mold the tailgate in an awesome one piece design :)

So much this. There was a rendering I saw where it was large and uniform and said "TUNDRA" and it looked great. I think all the new tundras should get that, then the TRD gets the bed side stamp. But whatevs.

The tundra is a depreciating asset and not some collectors vehicle  I don’t understand the folks saying the value of the 3rd Gen is going to go up, especially based on a couple of blurry and weird angled pics. Sounds like the whole “I know what I got don’t lowball me” line from the people trying to sell clapped out pieces of shit.

    A bunch
To 1 specific person, sure it'll go up if you have a mint one - right mods, colour, and V8 engine. But to a dealer who needs to sell to anyone a far more fuel efficient EPA rated engine and newer model year is far more valuable. Sure many of us know that a V8 and a V6TT don't get far different fuel economy, but the EPA rating is different by enough that the average buyer much prefers it

Only thing I really care to know at this point is the engine options, power numbers, and economy. They could keep the interior, trims, tech, and options locked up till September when you can order and I'd be perfectly content

Similar mpg when towing. Can totally see Toyota using those 10 gears to get 22-24 mpg hwy. Can only get that in neutral coasting downhill in my Tundra.

Both the Camry and the Tacoma use the 2GR-FKS. It’s a passenger car engine for sure, one look at the ho and torque numbers and the RPM they’re made at tells you the story.

The 2GR-FKS has no business being in a pickup truck or anything else that weighs near enough 5000lbs. It’s a big old lump of failure in the Tacoma, why Toyota didn’t update the good old 4.0L with 4DS injection and bump the compression ratio up is beyond me.
