TRD Front Sway Bar Installation Procedures?

Hello everyone!

New 2021 Tundra owner here and I am really liking the truck! I picked up the truck a couple weeks ago and installed the rear sway bar and the installation details and grease were included with the parts. (FWIW it made a pretty significant difference and has reduced the body roll.)

The TRD front sway bar however is just the bar and I was wondering if there are similar instructions from Toyota on proper installation procedures/torque specs/etc. Also looking at some youtube videos I see that you are supposed to grease the bushings and since this part didn't come as a kit no grease was included. I want to make sure I use the right grease for the job so figured this was the place to ask! Another item people mention is using an anti-sieze compound but there are apparently many kinds - some of which are corrosive - does Toyota use anti-sieze from the factory?

Thanks! do you happen to remember if you used Aluminum, Copper, or Nickel?

 

You don't have any extra bushing grease left over from the rear sway bar install do you?

The torque values will be the same as stock.
Stabilizer bar-to-link nut:............................111 ft-lbs
Stabilizer bar link-to-lower control arm nut:....89 ft-lbs
Stabilizer bar bracket-to-frame nut/bolt:........51 ft-lbs

 

Is there any difference between the standard sway bar and the TRD one? Regarding the front sway bar

 

Its bigger, which makes it stiffer. Well, thay didn't come out right. Lol

 

No unfortunately not, the directions explicitly tell you to use all the grease.

 

The diameter is the same, the wall thickness is greater on the Sequoia bar and even thicker on the TRD bar.

Im assuming if you got a TRD package you already got the TRD front sway bar?

standard sway bar is a tube whereas the trd sway bar is a solid piece. The difference is about 15 lbs between the 2. I installed both the trd rear and front sway bar at the same time so I cannot say how much of a difference just the front makes, but the truck handles so much better after installing both of them.
