I want a console safe for my 2019. Don’t want to spend the money for the Toyota one. I think one of the off brands on Amazon would meet my needs just fine. Are any of the budget ones better than others? I also want to make sure it allows access to the charging outlet.F8E6B61D-A804-4F93-A177-365CEA0432C8.jpg

I wouldn't keep firearms in those. They are too easy to get into.

    Lots of shenanigans.
I got the more budget one (link below). The only issue I had was that it came in dented so I contacted the company and they gave me a partial refund. Totally worth it. I don't keep anything expensive in there (gun wise) but something I would trust if I needed it. I also keep my wallet in there when I am out and about. Can someone break into it? Absolutely, but anyone can break into anything if they are determined enough. Just be smart, park where cameras are at and hopefully you won't ever need to find out how well the safe is built.

Does it allow for you to use the outlet in the console?

My Tundra came with the Gulf Shore (OEM) safe. I do not have the tray, which I wish I did. I have tried to find a 3D printer to make me one, but CVD-19 has push everyone back on orders. I have been watching this one for about a half a year. The seller has a 99.7% feedback score and they ship from Oakland CA.

I just got one of those cheap Amazon safes. I think they're all the same. Several different vendors. It had good reviews. I'll install it soon and let y'all know.

Even with the best console safe, your firearm should never live in your truck. I read somewhere that stolen firearms left in vehicles is the #1 way criminals get their hands on guns when they would never pass a background check.

The safe is for when your firearm can't accompany you into an establishment. Yeah, it can get stolen then, too, but you cut way down on that risk when it's not living in your truck 24/7.

Just be careful with the cheap ones. One of the Amazon reviews showed how easily it was to pry the lid open. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

I have a LockerDown. I don't leave my firearms in there 24/7, but when I do leave them in the truck, I feel more confident with a quality safe.

My 2020 has the Toyota safe and it allows for outlet use, however it did not come with a tray (it was slightly used) so I had to make my own395315F4-D902-44D2-BBB4-E0DCD254608C.jpg1DF304FE-10AF-48BB-83CC-5B02432161EB.jpg

I'm not sure what Toyota was doing in the past, but the OEM one on the Toyota build site is a Console Vault. I believe the one above in @Jehuteh's picture is as well. I have owned 4 Console Vaults and they were identical to the one pictured above. Was very happy with all of them. I can get one for about 40% less than Toyota is asking and they are super easy to install, so once my Tundra arrives, I will be going that route again.
