I've had Spyders for around 10 months, I have no problems with them. The bulbs that come with them aren't so great and the color temperature is bad. Replace them with some good HIDs or LEDs and you're in business. The only thing I don't like about the Spyders is that they're so dang common. Think I need to get some retros now..

I also have the Winjet tails. I am considering cracking open my headlight housings and painting the chrome matte black.

Thanks for the info  I ordered some Spyder's and shipped them directly to Retrofit wholesale. They were delivered today apparently. He is going to change my u bar Led to a Switchback possibly . Not sure the route I am going. I am with you. I want something different. Maybe I will change the U Bar Led to the just amber? I don't know

Yes base on the previous experience, you might need to reseal Spyder headlights with silicone to avoid future issues like leakage. But I have to say the lights they import in are really in style and much better looking than stock lamps!

Looks like it's CG distribution or ANZO lights? The lights are for rich tundra owners, very pricey

Yes Spyder sell on eBay with lower price by using that seller name. As for customer service, I have no comment since I am just a normal customer to them I guess. So far I had only purchased a set of head lamp from them and might look for other brands in the future. No comment on their response speed and attitude of customer service.

Are those Spyders? Do you get any light output in the daytime from the ubar that you can actually see?

Yeah I ordered the Spyder headlights from Amazon. Company called Xtune. You live and learn. Talk about crap. They showed up at Retrofit Wholesale with the black paint chipped off the inner housing. Plus the LED diffuser looked like crap. Spyder manufacturers these to other companies and that company puts a different name on it I believe. It was a very confusing buying process trying to figure out if they are indeed Spyder brand. On top of all of this I have heard multiple times that the light output blows on these. Guess I will never know. Pisses me off because I really like the look of them. Think I am going to pick up some Pre assembled Oracle halo headlights and fogs in the future.

Yeah I bought headlights and tails from carid. Tails didn't fit so sent them back. Heads look great just wish the output was better. Someone on here told me about someone retrofitting them with better lights I need to follow up on that.

I put Hikari LEDs in my Spyders because I was unhappy with the output and color temperature of the included bulbs. The Hikaris were definitely a massive improvement over the stock bulbs. I tried a cheaper LED before getting the Hikari H11s and they sucked..

How did you replace them did you have to bake to open. That scares me. Don't want to screw them up not knowing what I'm doing

Nope, there is a rubber boot on the back of the assembly to keep moisture out. You simply remove the boot and wire in the new bulbs. 15 minutes.

I actually sent mine to Leo at Retrofit Wholesale in GA. He is a good dude. Originally he told me that the only projectors that would fit the Spyders are discontinued. Here is what he said.......

Hey buddy! The only projectors that would fit in the SPyder headlights are the mini D2S 3.0 and those are discontinued. Its possible I can find a pair. If so, Retrofitting them to your Spyder lights would cost $500. Leo

I had mine sent to him for he was changing the stock white diffuser that came with them with a brighter LED white /amber switch back. But upon arrival and further inspection aborted the mission and sent them back to Amazon. He is a good dude and said he would give me a good discount on anything else I want to do. Highly recommend Retrofit Wholesale http://retrofitwholesale.com/

Yeah sounds like a solid dude but with $300 already on lights then 5 more bills may be a little too pricey. Had lights too long to send back now. May just need to give them a shout and see my options

So the actual projector in the spyder has just a backing that you can get to. Do you have to connect anything to the replacement bulb or was it just plug and play? I wish I could get at the LED ubar pretty easy but if i could increase the projector output significantly then that would be a win.

You don't have to! I ordered mine from Lew. He's on here in the lighting section. Overall, it is worth the extra. I didn't go all out with mine though and I am very very happy with the performance. Hands down I am the brightest and cleanest light on the road. Absolutely no one is flashing me cause my lights are blinding them and in many cases, if someone starts driving next to me my lights overpower theirs to actually help them see better.

Nope, cut off is superb. Just like what you'd get from a high end luxury car (if not better)
