    Hi,

My 2 year Toyota Care expired. I guess I have another year on factory warranty (3 year 36K miles?) but the way I drive I wont make it through the year.....

Leaning heavily towards keeping my 2019 for the lang haul so want to optimize my investment.

As I was making a service appt. I found out about Toyota Care Plus but seems like a few oil changes and inspections....for ~$380....doesn't seem worth it BUT maybe???

    I can't decide about extended warranty...heck it's a Toyota but maybe that's a better deal....

I recall reading about one particular Toyota dealership that has the best deals on extended warranty if I chose that....I can't see to find anything about that though!

Thanks and sorry if this has been beaten to death!

Whatever helps you sleep at night. My last truck was a used 09 Tacoma with 100k miles and I thought I couldn't live without the 2 year warranty offer. I wasted money on that. But it helped me sleep a little better at night.

I'm also looking to keep my 19 until at least 100k miles. I won't need an extended warranty to sleep at night with this one. However, I took it in at 24k miles for a bad wheel bearing and while it was on the lift the tech said the transfer case was blown. All got replaced under the factory warranty but made me start questioning if my truck was built on a Monday...

I was able to get Toyota to admit "not worth it" IF you are comfortable doing your own work.

Gives no price break on advanced service like diff. oil change...

toyota care plus is just like you said oil changes paid up front. comes out to roughly the same cost of about 3-4 oil changes at 10k miles each (if running the non flex fuel engine).

VSA you will need to get before either 36k miles or 3yrs, whichever is first.

i PM'd you the person to contact as posting that info can lead to the person being ban listed by toyota usa.

I've had seven (7) new from the dealer Toyotas since 1985 that have mileaged over 75,000 (I have an 8th, '19 Highlander, but only 15k on it) and have NEVER said to myself "I sure wish I had gotten an extended warranty so that would have been covered." Never!!

And now the lawyer part >>>> YMMV. :hattip:

same ymmv. but i got a 7yr/75k vsa for $680, divide that by 4 and its costing me $170 a year for that vsa. it seems like a lot upfront cost but its a cheap peace of mind. at the cost mentioned above its pretty cheap compared to some dealers charging 2x-3x the cost stated above. then it becomes a waste at that cost imo. but each person is different.

edit: you have to subtract 3yrs from the stated plan since the vsa doesnt start until after the oem 3yr warranty.
