So i bought the best drums
I could find in this area. They would not fit either.
After trying over and over for
    hours. I vouldnt take anymore.
I tore the brakes down completely again. Reinstalled
the brakes once again. Low and behold the drums went
    right on......?????
I still have no idea why , but
i need to have brakes and i
now have them. Pleased with the outcome. I dont care what it was. Tbe brakes are done,
that was the objective leave well enough alone.

This happened to me once...when I disassembled it all to figure it out I discovered that the lower spring had become disconnected, thus not pulling the shoes in completely.

Mojo is a real thing, as you just discovered. What happened is the Original Mojo didn’t accept the new Mojo because its new parts. Sometimes you need to put your loving Hands on the parts ahead of time so the Mojo starts flowing before the job. True!
