We'll get a pool house built this year, and we can live in that. I'm hoping the building materials prices come down over the next 6-12 months. We'll wait for awhile, but not forever. I've got most of the services lined up. It's the materials costs that are slowing me down.

We're in the same boat - I got my truck about a month ago and it's raining just about every other day since. Bottle of ceramic coating has just sitting in the garage waiting. If you decide you want mudflaps again, check out rokblokz - something a little different from OEM, but I liked them. I get on dirt roads a lot during deer season, so you may not eat up your paint as much as I did in the Tacoma.

Installed my Roadmaster Active Suspension HD today. Was hoping to put in a Toytec shackle and poly bushing at the same time but the stock bushing wouldn't budge. Even with the ball joint press.

I'm glad I just did this because the RAS HD raised my back end 2"+. I was expecting half that. It gave me the rake back that I was looking for after installing the 6112s @ 1.9".

I will hook it up to the trailer soon to see how it handles the load. So far I am very happy though. Rear suspension is firmer but nothing jarring. Hoping to tow dead level.

    New stance, 1" of rake:

Passenger rear wheel = 25.5" center of wheel to fender. (Time for bigger tires)

Now to adjust the new headlights...

Your chrome bumper ends are about to convince me to pull off my vinyl wraps and go back to chrome. Vinyl is starting to look rough and mine is same as yours with PRO Grille. Looking good.

Thanks, I only recently upgraded the bulge and surround. I rocked the pro grille with the chrome surround for 6 years. I tried to embrace the chrome, but I finally change it I’m really glad I did it. I still do like the chrome bumper ends. I think it’s OK for a truck to have chrome bumpers. Nice and sturdy and you don’t really have to worry about rock chips like the rest of the truck. The first weekend I took it off roading when it was brand new, I drug bumper! I was really glad it was chrome.

Yeah, I seem to remember complimenting you on the Pro Grille back in August of 2019 when I was a newbie and just now recalled you were the one with the chrome surround on your front. That was definitely different.

On my bumper ends, I have done the plastic abs route with paint match but didn't like them, wrapped them three times now, bought another extra set of chromes front and back. Trying to decide to either raptor line them or paint match...I just need to embrace the chrome and be done with it.

I am not smart enough to understand what this actually ships? Is it just the inserts? Meaning if I had a chrome surround, those would stay and the middle would match the hex grill?

Finally found an AVS rear glass ventshade. I had one of these on my 2013.
It allows me to roll down the rear glass a little on these hot days and not worry about a rain shower.
Don't much care for the side window ventshades, so this does the trick well.
As you can see, it doesn't fit perfect, but i'm ok with that.

I opted for the grill insert. It comes with the sensor cover and toyota lettering. I believe they offer the grill with the surround piece, but I already had the color match surround stock on mine. Does that help?

Very much so. Appreciate it. Need to save my pennies for the TRD grill with color matching panels :(

Is it me or my first thought was why not AC?
    Your rig doesn't have AC?
Why not just the Toyota rear glass setup with sliding middle section for open or close?

I’m guessing it’s more so for when you leave the truck parked to help vent air out without letting rain in. You’d turn your AC on whenever you get in to drive

Badges? We ain't got no badges! We don't need no badges! I don't have to show you any stinking badges!

This is a bit long for what it is, and so, so many posts about it already; but hopefully the additional info can help someone. Mine's a '20 so if you have an older model YMMV.

    First, some supplies:
    20210613_133504.jpg
    20210613_133600.jpg
    20210613_134805.jpg

Not pictured in supplies, but needed: 45 minutes and right-lane patience.

    Not needed: a heat gun.

I didn't post pics of using the monofilament, but it's as straightforward as you think. You're just bifurcating the adhesive. Note that while 50lb. line will not break due to the glue, the edges of the badge and sawing motion do cause it to fail. Just try to keep it from rubbing the badge as much as possible while you drag it through. I started to tape off the area, afraid the dropping badge would have a chance to scratch the paint; but it re-adheres to itself slightly, and keeps the badge in place. Carefully pulling it straight off from there yields:
    20210613_133959.jpg

Then you're all done - looks great!!!

Or you could clean the goo off.

If your truck is relatively new, it likely will roll up on itself relatively cleanly, like a Pilsbury crescent roll. Some advice here: If you're a mid-50's technical sales manager without regular adventure and toil, your thumb is likely the wrong tool with which to accomplish this task.

    20210613_134102.jpg

    Try a glove, Boomer.
    20210613_135341.jpg

The goo remover comes after that - some orange-oil-based something or other will work. I'd be most careful with this leg of the adventure, and research chemicals carefully. Use a soft rag to apply. Hold-and-soak followed by rubbing, followed by hold-and-soak - - worked for me relatively well. Wash that stuff off really well when you're fully de-goo'ed.

For me, it's obviously time for a clay bar and some ceramic coating.

    20210613_134938.jpg

Someone else on this thread had plasti-dip blacked out a 1794 badge with only the bronze numbers showing, and it was really nice. I was really crossed up between stealing that idea and just going naked, but I guess I still have the option of sticking the badges back on.

As an aside, that sod was laid 10 weeks ago, harvested from a Texas farm (hit by the ice storm in February), and I'm pretty happy with it. It was a bit sketchy for a few weeks. Needs a quick mow, though...

She'll get a level and some new wheels when these tires wear out, but we're getting close. Just kidding - - we're not anywhere near close.

    I love my truck.

Finally put those letters on. Pretty much the best $40 you could spend on this truck I think

It looks good either way. I think it really depends on the truck though (chrome or painted bumper, dark or light color, etc). Silver with a chrome bumper this just sort of makes it pop a bit

Installed the HiRev steering wheel with the red stitching this weekend. Spot on match for the TRD Pro interior. Since I had it apart i pulled the vinyl wrap off of the trim pieces and sprayed them. 17419425-4843-47DB-927F-39ECA5E57D47.jpg
