Maybe a Sequoia and yard trailer might work for you. I loved my
4Runner, but with kids, friends and all their baseball stuff, camping, hauling, etc. the Tundra is great. I still eye 4 runners though as a future, kids are out of the house, daily driver.

Traded in a 19 4Runner with less than 20k for a 16 Tundra. Don't tow much if ever but way happier in the Tundra and a solid V8 engine which may become a thing of the past soon.

Pulled over on a cross country drive in the 4Runner and slept in the back which was nice ...... until trying to get out the next morning, uggg if you get a 4Runner make sure to add a release button on the inside of the lift gate.

This is my point. My wife has a 4-runner without the 3rd row seating. In this scenario my Tundra can do everything my wife's 4Runner can do. Her 4Runner can't do everything my Tundra can do.

The other side of the coin is gas mileage...

We don't need better gas mileage... we need better gas prices...

I'd still end up driving my Yaris to save a dime.

    Yes. I have both.

The crew max second row is insanely large. Perfect for a family. The bed is always useful.

The 4runner is probably perfect for you 99% of the time.

Both are old school as it gets in 2021. If you are into new tech and wizardry these are the absolute worst options for you. This was a huge bonus for me and although I'm a Toyota nerd through and through, the old school tech was a major deciding factor vs all other options.

Comparing the two what I enjoy most about the Tundra is the power and acceleration.

What I like most about 4Runner is it is super versatile between grocery getter and a good trail vehicle. In all trim levels the 4Runner is a really good trail vehicle. I'm on my 5th 5th gen 4 runner ( I traded around for various reasons). Another area of the 4runner that I like is the build quality is insanely good.

Gas mileage in both are obscenely poor. The Tundra is LOLWTF level but makes up for it in many other ways. The 4Runner has poor mileage because for its overall size it weighs a ton (literally as much as 76 Deville). It weighs a ton because it is built like a brick shit house.

No need for an internal release, just roll down the window and pull the hatch
