My custom I built in 2002, pretty much a show queen. She looks the same today.

Me too, brother, me too. I got this one a couple of years ago after a kid in an F-150 t-boned me on my FLHRSI while I was sitting dead still in a turn lane at Daytona. Killed the bike and didn't do me much good either. I bought that bike in Guam through the military and had rode it from Florida out to Sturgis, Myrtle Beach and the Laconia rallies. Not to mention all the way up to Maine, the whole Blue Ridge Parkway, Tail of the Dragon many times, out to Yellowstone and up to Jackson Hole. I loved that bike! I don't need no stinking fairing (although I for sure use my detachable windshield on the road trips).

FLHRSI gotta love it! Mine was an '04 in Smokey Gold Pearl, had the Rhineharts on it, too. Had a solo Mustang seat for those looong rides. Put over 100k miles on it before her untimely demise. Nice whip, Bubba!

Very clean, I like the fat spoke application.
For me, I'd ditch the floor boards, put on forwards, then go to black ceramic Thunder Header :monocle:
But, that's what's great about customs, everyone has their own ideas... Good job

First and only motorcycle I ever had was a 2003 Honda VTX 1300. Loved riding it locally around town, nothing over 55 MPH. Thing was heavy, but had loads of power to get up and go. I just learned after a really crappy trip out of state to visit a buddy that I don't like going above 60 MPH without a roof and a seat belt. I'm just not a motorcycle guy I guess, but it was a great commuter. If I lived in a city, I'd absolutely get another bike, but in the middle of nowhere it just didn't make sense.

Mine looked just like this, except it didn't have the silver badge on the sides of the tank.

By far my favorite ride is starts only 30 minutes away. Then, it starts; riding down highway 1 along the coast.
No other run anywhere in this country will give you the spiritual hit that this run does.
Anyone who rides owes it to themselves to do this before they hang up the leathers.

I just meant that where I'm at you've got bit long stretches that are above my comfort level on a bike. Less traffic is definitely preferred, but when you have to use an interstate to get anywhere you have all the through traffic and it doesn't feel like the middle of nowhere anymore.
