not really, its looks like the gap in teh middle is much larger on the tundra than the land cruiser. It also sloping down into the grill whereas the LC is sloping up onto the hood

but I get it, it will be similar

the front end reminds me of Darth vadars helmet at the bottom or a large catfish mouth

Looks like there is a trim piece around the grill that the hood will come down to. Spacing between humps is farther. Large light units beneath the hood that extend past the hood edge in front and along the side. Also looks like the light extends past the fender too at the top... maybe side turn signal on back? Looks like it will have flares around the wheel wells. Not seeing intake vent below the lights like in some rendition... just looks like one really big light unit. Not sure what the vents would do in that location, the wheel wells are right behind them. I'll guess all standard lighting including fog/driving lamps will be with large light unit. The grill light bar and the two bumper little bars are accessories/additional package accessories. I'll also guess there is an opening for a winch accessory between the two small bumper lights.

Those hoods are not even close to the same....but regardless I agree with you, the drivetrain of the two vehicles will probably be the same.

I literally as thinking of a new Sienna for the family, let the Tundra Storm settle down and revisit in 18months.
I got a 07 that’s not going anywhere regardless- so I’ve got the Tundra truck covered. Was just wanting to upgrade Family vehicle and the Crewmax was the plan…. Still is, Just may post pone. Let the teething of the new Tundra commence.

I test drove the Ford Raptor, Ram Rebel, trail boss and AT4 before buying the 2021 TRD PRO tundra. Nothing spectacular about the GMC and Chevy interior. The TRD PRO suspension and seats are way more comfortable. My touch screen with apple car play works great and looks larger and clearer than the 8” GMC and Chevy.

The Ford Raptor has a hell of an exterior and suspension. But the interior is not all that for a 70K truck. The small sliding window on the rear glass is very basic looking compared to the tundras rear window that slides completely down. Made my friend jealous that has a 2019 Raptor.

The Ram Rebel loaded out had a really nice interior but a bit too flashy on the seats with the white Rebel stitching. The 12” computer looked cool but way more than I needed. Not to mention the extra 8-10K they charge for the luxury upgrades and big screen. Ends up being a 63K-65K sticker on the Rebel.

What I wish the TRD PRO Tundra had if it could have it all is a little better gas mileage, larger tires with some offset from factory, some more wheel well flare, extra storage under the rear bench seat.

The guys mentioning the interior probably haven’t been inside a 2020 or 2021 loaded tundra. In 2015-2016 I was going to buy a TRD PRO but it didn’t have push start, no car play, etc... I passed and glad I waited until 2021. It has everything those didn’t.
Can’t wait for them to unveil the 2022. If it’s a boom then I’ll pick one up 3+ years from now if I get the itch.

*Disclaimer: I was coming from a 2006 Toyota 4Runner with 194,000 miles so all the trucks were nice compared to the current vehicle.

My Rebel had an MSRP of 74k , but when I talked to them about it they dropped the price down to 54k . MSRP is a joke just to see if you’re serious about purchasing .

I didn’t even know that was possible with a Rebel. What year did you buy it? No way you are getting 20K off sticker right now that’s for sure.

Maybe if the domestics offered fake hood scoops Toyota guys will buy. Ram box? Useless. Multifunction tailgate? Garbage.

Agreed. The ultimate factor for me as well. My time is just way too valuable to me to be taking my truck back to the dealer for issues and recalls.

There's definitely uses for the Ram Box - I sure wish my work trucks had something like that. I liked the Titan storage box on the bottom of the truck bed. Big negative space that put a compartment to put straps or other stuff that is super helpful to have easy access to.

Fair enough, but as you know it effects some not all models. But coming from an F150 3.5 Ecoboost theres lots of threads on timing chain issues, carbon buildup (still on gen2), ignition problems, and water intrusion into cab and sills like my work truck.

I've found I get about 13.5 mpg around town which is the majority of my driving all 7k a year. I didn't get much better than that on my F150.

For sure. I hear ya. My tundra passenger door leaked a lot. They could never get the seal to sit right with that glue at the top of the window.

my current powerboost mpg is 23mpg around town and on shorter flat trips up to 40mpg.

In my tundra which was lifted, on 34s, i never saw a day above 12.6 mpg. It’s not about the money, it’s just about the principal of burning through gas when it’s not necessary anymore. Kind of like a Hummer H2– just ridiculous given the technology nowadays.

Ford. Definitely Ford. As a great example: Toyota was too scared to make a performance car again, so they piggybacked with BMW and sold fanboys on the QDR Bc it has a Toyota badge (z4)

Simply not true. Was a complete money saving business decision that benefits both companies. An heard Toyota drove BMW nuts by making them go back and fix issues on the drivetrain. Same business decision for the Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86.

So it will be interesting when you put 34's on the Ford so we can compare apples to crab apples. Which is almost apples to apples but only partly related.

Wasn’t really comparing in that sense. Was just disclosing the apple I had. Prior to the lift and tires I got 14mpg. 5k elevation is a death wish for an NA engine.

Very true. You definitely now have a more efficient style motor than an NA for your location.
